Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

Got my 4 BLF Q8 yesterday from first batch. All seams to work and feels and look great,

The beacon led all seams to work. No damage to the lighs.

Some screws where damaged and and maybe some looks a little bit dirty but I think I can fix that. Giving 2 away and they are very happy about the lights.

I really like them and was somewhat smaller than I thought.

Bought some cheap chargers, but I have some better chargers for my self. The pouches are somewhat big but works. Sadly I didnt got my 16 Samsung 30Q batteris shipped from Banggood. So had to use some Sanyo 18650GA on some lights but they worked even if they are not button-top.

Thanks for all the work you have done with this great flashlight. Sadly I am going away so cant test them more……

Just for kicks and giggles. Remember when I said this in Post #5425?

I did a turbo temperature test. After 4-5 minutes I got an external temp reading of about 69 degrees C. I did the test to confirm that I had not accidentally disabled the turbo timer while changing the settings to my liking. So is this the typical temp I should have expected? I really can’t tell you if it stepped down visually because I did it with the light facing a white wall and after so many lumens is hard to tell if anything is really changing, I also do not know how quickly the timer drops output.

You were right
But that part went not so bad I rlthink

So what was the temperature you set it for? Your supposed to set the temperature you want it to stepdown at.

Yes, you guys have done a great job keeping everything “between the ditches” here. But, now that you’ve got experience with BLF group buys, I’ll be expecting it to go even smoother next time! :sunglasses:

David there will always be bumps on the road to a BLF special light.

And the driver get more complex (GT), there are other manufacturers.
And if it’s too smooth it’s boring :cowboy_hat_face:

Mine are in ILLinois… any day now!

I set it for the time based step down, 3 minutes was what I intended to set it as. If I were to do it based upon temp what is a good temp to do so? Also how many lumens does the light step down to.

Thanks

Well, 3 mins is the default. If yours is stock, 3 mins works pretty well. For temperature setting, all depends what you want it at. An externally measured temp of about 50-60C works well, but even 50C is feel'n quite warm, all depends.

:crown: :+1:

Although tracking from China is a muddy, muddled mystery to me, I did figure out my Q8 is in New York City! Now it just has to travel to Florida with the snowbirds!

Has anyone noticed or mentioned the behavior where if the light is switched off when ramped below 50% the switch only flashes once and quick method of disabling switch leds doesn’t work? Sorry if I missed it if mentioned already.

Yeah… it is almost funny. My last two finally got out of customs the other day in California & have been on two completely different routes to final destination (me in AL). One has hit every small town possible it seems since it left Arizona…. Comical to watch for sure……

Sometimes I look at those small towns that Fedex drives through on google maps, and imagine what life is like for the people there. Especially if it has a unique name, or if I vaguely remember hearing the name somewhere.

nc here……shipped sept 29th….fedex label was created same day……hasnt moved since……ughh……

You guys are lucky, look what our great postal service calls detailed tracking :person_facepalming:

Cheers David
Edit …. shipped 29 sept

Are they raised flat tops? If not, you need to check that all 4 are getting contact.

If they are the red ones, then it should be raised flat tops which is perfectly acceptable.

Got mine today, and it blinks out v.1.1 Shouldn’t it be v.1.2?

I had to look twice before I realised that it is no joke, LOL. The ‘we’ve got it’ and the ‘it’s coming today’ are are at least real things happening, but the ‘it’s on its way’ is the ‘we’re not going to tell you what is happening to your package right now’.
