Imalent DX80 32000 lumen monster

I think that video is cool, when the camera backs off, the flood just keeps coming (@ ~ 20 sec)

Looks like Acebeam’s answer to the DX80 is their X70.
Eight XHP70.2 with active cooling of some sort.

Nice, that might be a fan in there I see.

Apparantly will hit the market within a month or so! Might be selling my dx80 pretty quick!

Probably around $450.

Yup. Depending on battery pack and charging configuration. If it is similair to the x65 it could be close to $500. Let’s see. I picked up the dx80 with coupon so it will have to be pretty bad to dissapoint.

There is another one of the same “family” so to speak.Fan cooled I mean. The Olight X9,which will be in the market someday this year I suppose.

I’m guessing X70 gonna cost $600 plus.

I’ve given up on the Olight X9. Been announced so long ago and no development since.

And here we go!

If I am not mistaken, there is a fan and ample room for air to flow, seems better then the DX80 for sure (but if it is 2 times the price, wow it better be two times as good  )
Exciting to see how it goes with the mega lumen lights

^ With 40000 lumen it made the Olight X9 already outdated with only 25000 lumen, haha!

So,the future BLF project, could be a fan cooled light.

They dropped it out of market if it is in the same price bracket,as the X70.

Yes I have a 16K lumen active cooled light in my head
It will thus not do 25-40K but if it can be done the 16K will be there for so much longer then any other hand held LED light can do 16K it makes up for that

16000 good lumens is all we can ask for

Active cooling is the ticket:
Lots of high CRI light that lasts a little longer than a few seconds (preferably indefinite).

My DX80 is waiting for me at the post office! Ahh! It came via express so quicker than I expected. You can expect me to report back with a lot of details and Beam shots comparing to the acebeam x45. Stand by.

Looking forward to those beam shots mate

Initial impressions… WOW!

I judge very critically and am very pleasantly surprised. The only thing that the build quality is ever so slightly let down by is the switch. It feels like a cheap Chinese clicky switch but nonetheless it works well. I’m very pleased to find an electronic lock out and also a very effective mechanical lockout with less than an eighth of a turn. The build quality overall and the anodisation, the LED centring is absolute top-notch. No complaints.

Reports of the first batch had it that the flashlight mode spacings were very inaccurate and much higher than claimed. I’m pleased to say that upon comparing with my flashlight collection and proven outputs, the modes are very accurate to the claimed spacings. Low mode is definitely around 120 Lumen, if not Less.

Another thing I was worried about is a blue or really green tinted emitters. Again, I am pleased to say that the output is approximately 5500k with no noticeable tint shift towards green or blue. Apon initial impressions, I am very happy with the tint.

A strange thing is the breather vents all around the head and Shining another flashlight from the opposite side you can see the CPU style heatsink fins. It seems like this flashlight desperately needs a fan. I am also a little suspicious how this can be waterproof when it is open like that. Time will tell.

The battery cartridge is a sealed solid unit. I believe I could unscrew the end plate and access it if I wanted to.

I like the design and it is well balanced and easy to hold. The machining on the head allows it to lay on the table and not roll. Little details like this I appreciate.

I will say that possibly the most disappointing aspect of this flashlight will be the throw figures. From initial impression and from Beam shots, it looks like this flashlight will be around 100kcd. I will prove this later on. Still plenty good enough for me but a Far Cry short of the claims specifications. The reflectors are very reflective and about 20 mm deep.

I will charge now and look forward to more testing. Initial impressions are very positive.

I look forward to the rest of your testing and what you will share about your findings. Hopefully mine shows up soon
