Imalent DX80 32000 lumen monster

That head is :smiling_imp: , ha ha but body mass is almost double then Acebeam !!!

Well that didn’t last long. :frowning: same thing happened to mine as the flashlight on the taschenlampen forum. I’d say a full secondary recall is on the cards.

Burned circuit board

Smoke in head

Banggood !!! As I mentioned earlier they haven’t even replace first stock just checked numbers with Imalent and decided that they are ok……

I believe mine was definitely the second batch. I didn’t see any issues in regards to the mode spacings or LEDs partially lit. Everything seemed fine.

Damn what a BUMMER! :person_facepalming:

Looked to be a nice looking light too!

Why then other vendors don’t sell them yet, and how did they get them in the middle of national holiday?

I believe the second batch were available before the Chinese holiday and mine was sent express. There are a few other members on the German forums that have received their second batch. One of them has done the exact same thing as mine.

Wow that sucks. How long did you have it running before that happened?
I thought the beam was already too wide on the X45. Lucky this light isn’t for me.

It wasn’t on for any time at all. The flashlight wasn’t hot. The way it happened was I mechanically locked out the light while it was turned on in medium or high mode, then screwed back the battery tube after a second to reset the mode memory and there was a quick flash and pop then smoke. It seems like if the battery is disconnected while it is turned on, the relay doesn’t disengage and when the battery is reconnected it shorts out. I think this is a problem that could be solved by the electronics Engineers. Maybe a capacitor or something like that.

Ya, I too hoped it can reach further to 150kcd.

That sucks. Hope Imalent sort it out for you.

Damn I would be pissed lol
The price is so close to the DT70 now too. Prob just gonna get that

Still waiting for beamshots :frowning:

Imalent DX80 V2 Thermography Although I took a video, it was not recorded on the SDcard due to an operation mistake :confounded:
The illuminance drops at about 60℃ and hot display appears on the display.Maintain below 62℃.
At other times when it was 58℃ or more when re-lighting, the illuminance immediately decreases.

It looks like there is not FAN.

There is no hole for air cooling.

The battery is fixed and can not be removed. If this twist it might be possible but I will not try it (damaged scary) :confounded:

We knew there was no fan, but could you see which heatsink style, of the 2 they showed, they went with?

No fan means I will wait for a light that has it.
How’s BLF Q16 coming along?

We definitely need a van in there to blow the smoke out… :stuck_out_tongue:

By shining a light in the vent holes in the side, you can see many fins, revealing the CPU heatsink shown in the YouTube video advertisement.

Anyone that is game enough to test, try switching the flashlight on medium, high and turbo and disconnect the battery tube while turned on and quickly reconnect it within one one second. This is what caused my fault. It quickly flashes and a pop and smoke. This is a short circuit and the battery must not be reconnected.

The reason why I was trying this was to reset the mode memory, but the flashlight should have been off before disconnected obviously. Nonetheless, this should not cause a fault. I hope they fix this as it is the 2nd know case in an few days.

Since your DX80 smoked in this way, unless that person stay next to Imalent factory or office, he must be crazy to try that.
