ENEDED

Forgot to add that i am interested in XHP70.2 and OP reflector aswell.

I havenā€™t checked into this thread for a while, but after your post Iā€™m now on the fence about the light. My first impression was that thereā€™s something ā€˜clumsyā€™ about its appearance (in lack of a better word)ā€¦ a bit like something that a child assembled out of Lego bricks, before they ran out of round parts for one of the fins. Or maybe a concept study for a 1970s electric Braun shaver that was never realised. It is really difficult for me to see it as anything other than an unfinished prototype. At the beginning I still thought that was something that gave it a special charm, but after reading your observations Iā€™m starting to wonder whether I was just fooling myself, in order to justify adding yet another lumens monster to my collection.

The design of the MT07S is in a completely different league, and after seeing the photo and reading about it, I had to put my name on the list.

Once I started collecting flashlights, I realised that it would be nice to have one or two of several different types, so I can see which lights fit which purpose. At the moment Iā€™ve already got two floody high lumens lights and I wouldnā€™t normally need another one, but it annoys me that they donā€™t have a decent medium mode. It is understandable that a light wonā€™t run in turbo very long (and I usually only use it for short bursts), but if a light puts out 10k lumens, I want it to be able to run at 25% - 30% of that for a sustained amount of time, instead of the 1000 or 1500lm that are easily put out by much cheaper lights. The MT03 hits that sweet spot very nicely with its 2700 lumens mode.

Decisions, decisionsā€¦

interested in white in NW depending on price, thanks freeme

Interested depending on price!

Interested

Please sign me up for a NW. Figure I'll save $45 on upgrading the LED's.

I just hope they improved the switch boot - I got a MT03 II and the center post inside the boot is way too narrow, so you have to press it dead on in the middle to get it proper.

Pleaseeeee ask them to look at the switch boot and fix if possible. For ramping UI's, it's a pain.

Thanks for the deal though!!

Interested if it has Narsil ramping type UI.

If you change the driver out, then yes. Is that what your asking?

Interested if CW available... and the price is decent.

I should add I love my MT03 II! It's built like a tank, anodizing seems very good, and I do like the styling. Yes - mine has a FET+1 driver replacement running NarsilM with XHP70.2 P2's and does over 25K lumens.

It's overall smaller than a Q8, but wider head, and weighs 50% more at 600g vs. 400g for the Q8, but every gram is worth it.

Tom, are you referring to this right? Do you want them to increase the diameter or overall length?

MT03 II group buy will start in about 24hrs time.

Yep, that stem or plunger, whatever we want to call it. It's too thin, and you can tell it bends over easy, so if you don't apply force in the center and straight down, it doesn't engage the switch as well. I even tried adding a dab of a good epoxy to the tip of that stem, thinking it was just short, but it made little difference. Maybe lengthening it a bit would help as well.

My preference is for an easier activated switch, but some may want it stiffer to avoid accidental activation's, which is fine, but the full depressed distance to activation should be short. I got ramping UI's on some stiff switch lights - it works, but it concerns me how well it will hold up. Some are known to fail like the Manker U21, and other Manker models. They tend to fail and they also are stiffer than average.

Also the switch rubber boot is big, really big - think that's part of the issue why the stem has to be thicker. Love the easy 4 screw mount though - no scratching a ring!!

Way better!!
