Imalent DX80 32000 lumen monster

Maybe it was supposed to be in this thread

After confirming well, it was 19V2A :frowning:
For that reason, I could not find it much.
I decided to buy this.
Thank you.I was very saved :+1:

This should also work if you would prefer a smaller more compact adapter:

My Dell laptop charger, writes 19.5V/2.5A.Is it good for the job?

Others might be better able to answer that question. I did research and discovered that Amp rating above the minimum that you need is no problem because the device only draws what it needs, the rest is left as unused potential, and the same is true for Watt rating. A higher Watt rating than the adapter you are replacing should not cause a problem for the same reason. But the Voltage should be the same unless the device (in this case DX80) has a range of acceptable input voltage and that different voltage falls within that range. I have no clue if the Imalent DX80 is set up to accept a range of charging voltage other than 19V.

My electronics knowledge is limited. Hopefully others might be better able to answer your question, and feel free to correct any bad advice I have given.

Voltage should be the same but since its 16,8V battery pack standard 19,5V laptop charger will be fine, and for Amperage bigger the better. Also its much better to find used original charger than those crappy replacement from BG, they will last as much as they cost :confounded:

I’ve got it just now.It seems OK, the charger is OK also. But it is now day hear,so I will play with it in the evening.I hope it will be OK after the try.
If I can open the charger,I try to make several holes through the plastic, for better cooling.

Are all dead chargers for US 110V plug-in, or we have some 220V also?

Thank you :+1: Because it sells to Japan, I will consider it.

I think that the chargers are capable for either 110V or 230V.We in Europe, have received a EU adaptor,so as,putting it on the US tips, it can adapt to European outlets.

Is it possible to open it,so as to drill holes through plastic? It could have better cooling I think, putting a small fan by it.

What is the tip size of this charger adapter? They are not universal I think!

Τhe outer diameter is 5,38mm.

The tip size for the laptop adapter that I used and the charging plug fit perfectly was Outside Diameter = 5.5mm and Inside Diameter = 2.5mm. I assume this is the tip size needed for the DX80.

I got mine today and the first thing I did was checkout the power supply adapter.

Open circuit voltage is 19.5V.

I have a whole box of power supplies, I save every one I come across, ’cause you never know what might come in handy.
Other than the supplies to laptops that I have, the only one that was compatible plug wise and voltage wise was this Fujitsu.

19V at 4.22A would make a nice replacement. I probably scrounged it at the recycle bin at Best Buy. No doubt if anyone were to
try, they could find another that would work.
This is the only extra I had and I am reluctant to cut the cord. I need a cord to measure how many amps a DX80 will pull when charging. I would like to know if the power supply they ship is being over worked, or it is just of poor quality.
If I can find a second compatible supply at Best Buy, I will cut its cord and do the test.

Either overworked or of poor quality,it becomes hot when it is working.

I have had the light charging now for about 2 1/2 hours and the supply is not even warm
The indicator lights are blinking some sort of code but I can’t decipher the meaning.

Portapow has a handy meter for dc inline measurements. Comes with USB and DC (5.5x2.1mm) plug adapters.

My guess it’s either done charging or not charging at all. The adapter should at least get warm when under load. The load gets very light right as it approaches 16.8v

What is the battery voltage?

That indicator looks pretty messed up. Not making sense.

I think it’s Morse code for “kill me”. It says it over and over.
