Mine wasn’t that bad but this is how another package of mine traveled… It sat in Compton for 1-1/2 weeks before going to Georgia… I could have drove and picked it up in 1 day! It’s amazing how crazy shipping is. How do these companies stay in business with these kinds of inefficiencies!?
Well I dont currently have access to it, but I did see one of them and the cover does not appear to have moved at all. It seems the actual switch/actuator underneath the cover has partially fallen away from the external surface so that its not pressable through the cover directly, but at an angle, so now its only pressible with firmer pressure deeper inside the switch hole at an angle…the cover seems to be in place relatively normally still.
I should have access to look first hand at it soon. How do I best take the cover off to look at it when I can?
I finally figured out that my 30 digit tracking number is a DHL eCommerce number, and tracking now indicates that my Q8 was “processed” this morning at the DHL eCommerce distribution facility in Compton, California. Others with a 30 digit tracking number may want to see if they can track their Q8 with DHL.

The one you linked I use a lot and is about as good as it gets, I’ve looked everywhere for something better and I can’t find it, so I’d suggest what you have there.
I also just got my Q8’s today and all I can say is WOW, what a beautiful light.
I could not find one flaw, not even a spec of dust in the reflector, not a sharp spot on the light anywhere, even has some thread lube on it, just beautiful and extremely nice machine work.
Thank you to all involved in making this happen, this light is just over the top.
I could not be anymore happy at all,
Thank You again Q8 Team you are tops …!!
So my Q8 seems great. No scratches, not dirt, led's fairly well aligned (not quite dead perfect, but ok). The screws are nice quality with the possible exception of the LED board center screw that still doesn't look bad. The indicator LED's are not quite even (mabe 2x different), but they work, and it's not an issue to me. My battery tube initially located just short of perfect alignment, and after a little use it's already gone past perfect alignment, so that just proves it's not a reasonable thing to expect and isn't possible to deliver, at least not without a completely redesigned closure mechanism. It definitely has the bump-on bump off feature. Handy for slamming it down on the table to turn it off. Not dependable for biking, but it's not uncommon from what I can tell.
Otherwise, it works great. I do have bistro-HD running on it (not the posted version, it doesn't work). The light does seem to have switch bouncing (mostly simple fix), so I'm guessing my bench setups don't because of either the big OTSM cap they have (even when I'm not testing them for OTSM) and/or maybe the lack of R1/R2 impacts C1 stability, not sure, but it bounces, and the bouncing finds every little race in the code real fast. There's still some rare lockup so maybe it find that soon or maybe I won't.
