Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

No. It does remember your last used level. But it does not memorize turbo; if you double click to turbo, then off and then back on it remembers whatever non-turbo level was used. I’m not sure if memory can be disabled as I have not explored the user programmable options. Just played with it as it comes in the box.

That’s not quite right. It will memorize turbo if you ramp up to it. It won’t remember turbo if you double click to it.

You can’t disable memory in ramping, because you don’t need to. You have direct access to moonlight or turbo and can ramp from those.

In mode sets, memory can be turned on or off. Default is off.

+1 - true, all good.

Digging a little more, the last remembered level is not save permanently, so if you cycle power by doing a mechanical lockout for example, you lose your last saved level.

Also if you are referring to MODES operation (not ramping), the factory default is no mode memory.

Assorted choices for assorted likes of assorted people. I do absolutely love the UI as it comes. For me the Q8 has the best out of the box UI of any light I have tried or read about.

cool!

Received my Q8 .
O. K.
Thank you very much (to the whole team).
Tested, All right.

2 Questions: 1st = is there a reward for tips that can lead investigators to your location?

2nd = where exactly are you (gps coordinates is preferred).

 :money_mouth_face:

Oh no pushed back another day!!! Tomorrow it should arrive.

Nice to hear good reports!

JakeDjanitor well it ia close

Price Drop: Listed now at $79.95. 42 reviews, all 5 stars.

All five stars! Certainly well-deserved, but still very impressive!

I scrolled through the reviews and was impressed by the number of photos shared by buyers.

Awesome to see reviews in many different languages, and fun to see some familiar usernames!

Mine arrived today in Manchester UK.

All good, no apparent issues. Build quality seems excellent and it’s bright as hell. Hot as hell too!

Tried it outside in the dark and it hit buildings about 150 metres away in a built up area with lots of ambient light.

Thanks to all involved.

I’m having a lot of fun shinning the Q8 around. Can’t help on the double click!

However, since the switch leds are much brighter then expected - you can move around the house at night just with the green glow, did anybody estimate or measure the parasitic drain involved?

I just confirmed the parasitic drain on the round #3 Q8:

with switch LED on: 135 µA

with switch LED off: 22 µA

not sure if he or anyone has measured a production light.

With one 3 Ah cell that is
3Ah/(135e-6A*24h*365d) = 2.5a runtime.

So the Q8 with 4 cells can light for 10 years the switch!

Assuming the production version has the same drain as the prototypes your talking years, so no worry.

As always, if your not using the light and it’s going to sit a long time, just twist the battery tube to break the connection.

Maybe someone can measure the drain on a production light that has the overly bright switch leds?

Just take a DMM and set it to measure DC current and use one battery then use just the head facing down. Touch the positive tip of the cell to the big ring then run the DMM wires from the cell negative to the outer ground ring on the driver. Should be pretty easy. You may have to wait 6 (?) seconds for the mcu to go to sleep.

Does this sound correct?

My local usps has it. I can tell because the sky is lit up down across town  hahaha.
I’ll have an update tomorrow . I can’t wait to try this thing out. Ever since it was first discussed. I am the one that asked for low voltage protection and you guys put it into the list right away.
It is cool to have been a little small drop in the bucket of this light from back when you guys started discussing it. ( post #20)

Yes sounds good, only measuring µA can be a bit tricky with older multimeters.

My old one can’t, so I ordered the ANENG AN8008 , it can go down to 0.01 µA (some shops have them for below $20).

Man, I don’t come here often and this is my fist new light in a while, but I’m EXTREMELY impressed. The UI alone is a massive feat, with so many features that I haven’t even attempted to try them all. I just regret not buying as many as I could possibly order at $40, that’s just an absolute steal.

I want to thank everyone involved for doing such an amazing job on this!

Can’t wait for mine to show up! BG has the tracking number but I don’t know where to track them…. I even throw the whole number in google and tried each carrier. And none of them were correct… Same thing goes with my MF01.
Expected delivery date are 10/23 for the MF01, and 10/26 for the Q8 But I have no idea where they are staying now lol
