Not only the price is  high, they do expect me to install the @#$% app to grab such offer? Bunch of losers!

This 4x sale is ;-) much better: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4pcs-INR20650HG6-3000mAh-3-6v-rechargable-battery-li-ion-3200-20650-30A-Discharge-Current-mechanical-vape/32824065383.html

Cheers ^:)

I may already have the HG6 in queue. A brand told me I was missing some cell (Not theirs, but LG/Panasonic/etc) and asked if they could supply them. I said yes and have received a big box of cells I need to register and test.

HKJ, in your 18650 comparator, didn’t you have batteries tested like AWT or something started by “A” letter? I don’t remember exactly, but I went there to confirm and the list starts by “E” letter!

Either way, there are some AWT batteries that I don’t know if they “worth” be tested! Some were sold in AliExpress, but they are not there anymore. The others, they are still there. Despite, I send the links from alibaba stores:

- This product is no longer available.

- This product is no longer available.

- This product is no longer available.

- This product is no longer available.

Thanks for all your work
:+1:

Of course there are batteries starting with A. I usual regenerate the list one or two times each week (Each time I publish a 18650 or 26650 review), sometimes my script fails (One or two times each year). I have not figured out why and it is not always I see it.
I have just uploaded a new list, because I am writing on today’s review and it contains A and also the rest of the alphabet.

Yup, now I see them  I had a notion that I had seen the reviews, but due to those operations I didn’t see the A’s and others! Sorry for asking and thanks for checking it!

From the list I sent above, the 1st and the 4th are the only different from those you’ve already tested, so please do not consider the 2nd and 3rd options!

Thanks again

MascaratumB, I hope you want these reviewed to have a good deal of laughs, to me there's no doubt their specifications are not ;-) of this age. :-D

Why bother?

Ooops, probably not
I just saw they were different, but that’s not necessarily good :person_facepalming:
I’m no good at choosing this stuff of batteries and other stuff, so I thought they would be good :person_facepalming: Nevermind if they’re not

18650 format top class high discharge performers are the good old Sony VTC5A and the newer Vapcell 2000mAh 38A (cough!), this last one I'm pretty sure it's manufactured by Samsung.

In the 20650 to 21700 league, Samsung INR21700-30T, presumably the newer LG HG6 and the Sanyo/Panasonic NCR20650A/NCR20700A.

Do not worry about asking me to review crap cells, in my opinion they are just as important as high performance cells to review (But I am not going to review all crap brands).
At the current time I am not looking for more cells to review, that will be a few months, but I still like suggestions and will review them when I need more cells.

It is interesting to compare today’s review (Aspire 1800mAh) to the Vapcell 2000mAh. In the 10A to 25A range the winner can be discussed. I.e. I would not declare either of them the ultimate winner.

And I am not sure where the Vapcell is from, over the next many months I am going to add a lot of brand name batteries to my comparator and it will be possible to see if there is a match.

Sorry but I did t read through the entire thread but what charger or test device are you using to get a true capacity mAh reading from the batteries? I’m looking for a decent, not too expensive charger that gives a true mAh reading. Thanks.

At the bottom of each review is a link that explains about it.
Basically I use a electronic load (Lab grade) and a power supply with a relay box, everything controlled from a computer with my software on it. This way I can do a automatic test at many currents automatically (I would never have been able to do this for years without automation).
The cheapest way to test batteries is probably a hobby charger and a DMM (See my reviews) to confirm it is correct.
Most LiIon charger use pulsing loads and this is a bit difficult to very how precise they are and they can never be that precise, because the termination will always depend on the IR of batteries at some unspecified high current.
The SkyRC MC3000 is probably the best “cheap” solution for multiple battery testing, out of the box it is about 1.5% (My experience with a couple of them) and with a good DMM you can easily make it more precise.

Thanks for the very quick and detailed reply. I appreciate that. I don’t need exact and precise readings. If a battery states it has a capacity of 2600mAh and I can get a reading of 25xx something something, I would be okay with that. I bought some Samsung 30Q’s from Banggood a few weeks ago and I’m questioning their authenticity. Have you seen anything questionable from Banggood lately? Thanks for all your excellent reviews and quick replies to questions. :+1:

I do not really keep track of where I get my batteries (Except as notes to my reviews), I just order when I see (Or a told about) some interesting cells.
At the current time I have not marked any shop as bad, but there are brands that I do not trust (As you can see here: Batteries with Ridiculous Ratings ).

Part of today’s work: adding batteries to my queue

Many of then are low capacity high current batteries from LG, Samsung, Sony, Sanyo (One was 1300mAh 20A)
I have more I need to add.

LiFePO4 3.0V 400mAh 15266 CR2 Size Rechargeable Batteries (4-Pack) @ FastTech

Unique, odd stuff. If these are at least as good as the existing 14500/10440 LiFePO4 cells, capacity should be close to 350mAh, with up to 10C discharge rate.

I know this may be meant for photographic devices, yet I'm pretty sure a couple could be stuck in certain “14500” flashlights. Just curiosity.

Cheers ^:)

After the later tests of their Ni-MH batteries, would these worth a try?

I have ordered these and the CR2 LiFePO4 cells.

Thanks Henrik.

I despise the “state of the art” in rewrapping technology (LoL!). The big cell manufacturers discredit themselves often also, even if to a considerably lesser extent. In my opinion, there's no good reason to put a never met specification on a label. There are some batteries which live up to their label specs, something esteem deserving.

I believe we should doubtlessly and respectfully point at the blamers.

Cheers :-)

I believe you are (also) talking about the cells I’ve posted above, right Barkuti? I also think they must be rewrapped, in the best of chances, some Sanyo with protection board, maybe!

Despite I agree with you on the “descrediting” of the original manufacturers, I can’t let myself forget that I’m a final user of a long chain, and that if a product is good at a lower price, I’ll try to grab what I need! Even if the “credits” for the core material go to others than those who sold me the “end product”.

Whenever I can, I buy “original” stuff , though!

Thanks HKJ and I’ll be looking for the tests! I ended up buying 2 of those 14500s, as I needed 2, despite being good or not so good
