I mean no dis respect when I say this, but I don’t know how you guys can stomach having to pay these outrageous VAT fees. What is the way around it?
Kits of smaller amounts?
Or getting a friend in a nearby country to bring it in?
Have already decided, should I ever visit the UK I will bring lot’s of Maglites out of the wrapper to subsidize the trip
Feel for ya man.
Later,
I finished my review about the Ganzo Firebird FB7601 CF & G10 folders. These are the first axis-lock Ganzos with ball bearings so the opening - closing action is pretty smooth.
Lot of Ganzo haters on BladeForum as they see them as copying other manufactures ideas, example guy with an user name Ganzofan getting grief just because he likes Ganzo knives.
Dont mention you buy clones either, A really big no no.
My EDC is a F753M1 with deep carry clip, as well. Bearing pivots FB7603 is to much to resist, I’ll get over the larger size. As soon as orange with black blade goes on flash sale its getting ordered. Have enough points and refunds it’ll be almost free!
Deep carry titanium clip, $8 from http://usaknifemaker.com/folding-knife-parts/folding-knife-parts/other-f… (link is external). Fits good, had to clearance the holes with a drill bit to get the Ganzo screws in it. The top of the clip hangs over the knife about 0.15”. Its double the thickness and a little longer then the stock clip. Thought it was going to be too thick and bulky, but after using it I forgot about. Carry’s nice and deep, disappears in the pocket. The unfinished titanium less eye drawing then the polished stock clip.
Link doesn’t work but I’ll have a look at the website, thanks.
Do you happen to remember for which knife it was originally for? I might order one the next time I’ll go visit my family in the US.
Too bad the clip costs almost as much as the knife LOL!
Would be nice if AE or DHG would carry aftermarket pocket clips for the main knife brands, those would have been cheap.
Hard to tell from your pic if that Kuk has a secondary bevel or is a true convex edge.
Correct me if I am wrong but I’m pretty sure you can sharpen a true convex grind on a work sharp. It takes a lot of practice, because you essentially ditch the angle guides and are free-handing it. I wouldn’t do it on a high value knife for starters, practice on a kitchen cleaver, something with stock to spare or something sacrificial.
I have no first hand experience with either convex grinds or work sharp systems. All my knives have some sort of fixed angle edge.
those k-bar doziers are cool. How do you like its lock-back design? Does yours have any blade play or excessive wear?
I’m thinking about picking one up for EDC.
It’s brand new, not used yet. No blade play. The lockback is good but certainly not in tri-ad lock league.
I would say it’s a light/medium duty EDC knife
