What’s the general consensus for best small charger+powerbank combo for travel?
a) For li-ion + ni-mh (18650+AA or AAA ni-mh)
b) for li-ion only (18650)

Well, how do you define “best”?
What exactly are your requirements?

And why don’t use the right thread for this topic? There are already similar questions and answers:

At least you’ll find everything on HKJ infopage:

Sorry angerdan, agree it doesn’t belong here. Just looking for the most versatile/lightweight travel charger.

I’d like to add another vote for the NiteCore F2 to review! The F1 seems to have done OK, but would love to see how well the F2 acts as a powerbank.

Another vote for the Nitecore F2 HKJ! Would love to see this one reviewed soon - especially to see if it holds up as a powerbank at 2A.

Another portable charger request please:

(2 x 18650 portable charger and power bank for around $9 on sale)

I have ordered one.

Did you get the 8xAA/AAA Sofirn charger?
They’re dirt cheap for their 11/11 sale, under $7.

I wonder if they’re any good.
Particularly would they be safe to leave trickle charging, to have some fully charged cells when the earthquake kills our power.

(individual indicator LED for each of the 8 slots, doesn’t say for sure if it will charge odd number of cells)

Here’s another 8xAA/AAA charger (4 indicators for 8 slots, says it only charges pairs of cells):

I did get it, but I have not had time to look at it.

How about the Armytek UNI C2?

ISDT C4
Color screen charger with lots of features.
Preorder up on Banggood now: https://www.banggood.com/ISDT-C4-8A-Touch-Screen-Smart-Battery-Charger-With-USB-Output-For-18650-26650-AA-AAA-Battery-p-1248735.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=CN

I’d rather have one that can charge 4 18650’s at a time. But since there’s only this one for now I would love to know both how it does as a charger, but also how good you find a UI as an experienced user.

I have ordered one, but it do not look that impressive (A fancy screen do not make a good charge).
I have received the Armytek C2.

It looks like only two LiIon batteries and not much flexibility with battery length.

Battery size: AAA, AA, 10440, 10500, 12500, 13500, 13650, 14500, 14650, 16650, 17650, 18650, 20650, 22650, 26650
according to their spec, this look promising
i have isdt sc608, really love it, the rotatory knob is quite annoying

I only looked at the images, not at the specifications, but there is one thing that catches my eye in your list:

Length is 44, 50 or 65 mm with diameter restrictions, i.e. 50mm cells can only be up to 14mm, not 18500 cells.
And what about protected and button top cells that are a bit longer or the new xx700 cells.

There may be enough tolerance in the springs to handle it, I will be checking that when I get it.

Hello HKJ,
Maybe I missed it but have you had chance to test the new Nitecore SC4? Thanks much.
