ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

You’re welcome!
The CF - satin combo is hard to resist although the handle of the G10 version is more grippy.

Does the G720 come with a 35 degree edge as standard? Not liking that so much, otherwise a great looking knife

i decided i need a folder AND a non-folder:

https://www.amazon.com/Hultafors-Knives-Expedition-Knife/dp/B06WLNY639/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509972779&sr=8-1&keywords=hultafors+ok4&dpID=41L4uvgPdYL&preST=*SX300_QL70*&dpSrc=srch

Havent decided between the G720 and the little smaller srm 910+

Carbon handle would be great!

I would really not use any folder, pivots and locking mechanisms are not designed for such tasks. However, if you don’t mind eventually ruining a budget knife, the above mentioned G720 is a very good choice. I have one and it is solid.
But pardon my ignorance, why would you need to do that in the first place if you carry a hatchet?

I’ve done the same thing, used a knife to split kindling off of a small log. It’s just a little bit easier to place the knife and tap back of the spine to cut exactly where you want as opposed to using a hatchet which doesn’t lend itself to that same purpose very well. If you’re swinging the hatchet, it’s less accurate than placing the knife exactly where you want it. If you are trying to place the hatchet, the wide tall blade is harder to control.

Yeah, carbon fiber suits the 910+ pretty well, I guess I’ll make another scale for a co-worker’s 9104 when he finally decides to buy one

Yep, it’s photophucket, but there’s the Photobucket Hotlink Fix. It’s available for Firefox and Chrome

Yeah what Sprinkles said.

I will use the Hulta for spine-whacking and the folder for edc

Anybody knife if this type of knife lock is legal in the UK, A pin on the tongue drops into a hole on the blade pivot when it is fully closed and full open, But only requires a little pressure to disengage the lock.

John.

But only for the newest versions which are massive resource hogs.

Better?

Perfect balance.

Just ordered the Sanrenmu 7056. Looks to be nice. Does anybody already got this one?

I have the 7056LUI-GHV-T4 variant, same overall shape but different handle material (and with secondary tools).

Not my favourite SRM but nothing wrong with it, you should not be disappointed.

It’s a good knife, one of the most popular from Sanrenmu, very similar to the Kershaw Cryo.

Regards!.

It’s a nice small folder but mine can’t be flipped open without a wirst flick.

Thanks guys. Let’s see if it can take the place as edc of my ganzo F753M-CF

Me too. Must be because the knife is too small.

Completely legal mate

I need recommendations for a gentleman’s folder, something like the CR Mnandi (links to good clones that take paypal?) or similar, thanks!

That knife was designed as an assisted opener, they don’t have to be good flippers by design, just like the Leek.

A good manual flipper is the Kershaw Chill but it seems esp. US folks love A/O so they don’t invest in good manual flippers anymore.

Only have 1 Ganzo/Firebird so far, F7413a, its lightning quick to open with a tiny wrist and/or thumb flick. its a little big for edc but I really like the action, and the one handed closing with the axis lock is a lot of fun. Have a bunch of Kershaws with AO, but you dont really need or miss it with this model. the edge grind is not even on both sides and the centering is a hair off, but its not too bad:
