TrustFire TR-J12 5*CREE XML T6 from DX MF and KD

pictures of the dropin and inside head? fit perfectly with the jm07 treads?

It's the same braid pitch of JM07 and TR-J12 , but JM07 thread is longer.

You can see JM07's O-ring.

How bright it is on one cell?

Ceiling bounce back lux test: My DRY 5A NW arrived and scored 202lux @ 3,4A tailcap reading(~40w?).

Trustfire TR-J12 scores 298, 50% higher @ 2,2A(~30w)

Trustfire X8 XM-L U2 @ 1,8A(15w) tailcap scores 95lux

The body of my JM07 PRO (gray one) wouldn't work with the TR-J12 . The threads are the same, but the body is annodized and it wouldn't bottom out to complete the negative connection. I was just using the extension to get some single cell testing.

no pictures of the dropin anywere jet?

no one have pictures of the dropin?

The drop-in does not come out. It has great thermal pathway to the body. I left it on high till batts died and the entire torch was hot, from head to tailcap/

I refuse to believe that

im not going to force it.

Flashlightlens now has 60mm size lens for the J12. Actually, the size for the J12 is 59mm.

Thought I'd post a link to my own thread on this light, I don't think I'd seen this one when I started that but it's probably of interest to people following this thread; https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/5840

:)

Greetings all. Just signed up after lurking for an extended period. I couldn't resist what I was reading and picked up a TR-J12 from Deal Extreme. It only took a month to get here...

It's quite an impressive light. Makes my old SSC P7 look dim. I wanted to fact check a couple of details from the thread...

From what I understand, the light is the same brightness regardless of the number of batteries installed (two versus three) and the only difference is run time. Is that an accurate assessment?

I'm using a lot of 18650 cells scavenged from old laptop batteries. These are too short to operate unless I add a small magnet. As near as I can tell from the design, there should be no risk of short circuit from the magnet if it's installed between two batteries because of the plastic sleeve (or at the tailcap for that matter). Would that also be an accurate assessment?

Thanks!

From what I can tell with my eyes I can not tell the diffrence in brightness between 2 or 3 cells, but I have not tested this on a light meter.

Regarding magnets it shoul be ok if they are in the middle of the battery tube and not on the driver or tail cap side, my battery spacer is a tad short on the tail cap side and this could move back and forward inside the battery tube.

I think it's an Awsome light.

And certainly be fine if you're using the 18650's with the plastic spacer as it'd insulate the cell from the body of the light anyway! :)

I plan to lathe adapter for J12'head and DRY battery tube

Cause I prefer 3x18650 side by side and It's shorter.
