Zanflare F6S is selling on Zanbase

without whistle?

I hope that others are right and the “S” means that this one will be able to produce Sound!

I have one too. Pretty neat little light though the 200 lumen mode dies down fast. It’s nicely made though. The magnet is strong and the built in charging is great. If I were allowed two requests to make this little light better I would of course make the whistle actually work and I would make the magnet removable. If it weren’t for that magnet it would be in my pocket right now. As it is, I’m working on computers all day and have my smartphone with me at all times and computers and phones and such don’t really get along well with strong magnets. That said, the magnet did make it a nice emergency bathroom light when we lost power a few months ago. I used the magnet to hold it to the light fixture over my sink and ran it on medium for a couple hours before it needed to be recharged.

Oh wait…make it three things. Get rid of the cheesy chain! :confounded: It looks terrible! I wouldn’t put that around my neck if you paid me. :person_facepalming: A simple stainless chain would be much better. I would change that or just leave it out. An “antique-brass-look” chain isn’t going to appeal to many if any. Very cheap looking in comparison to a classy little light. If anyone disagrees please say so. Opinions vary of course and this is just mine.

I looked at the specs on the zanbase site and I don’t see anything different. What am I missing?

Smaller I hope.
Lots of wasted space in that light. I have Several AAA lights that are only slightly longer.

I do want the whistle on this light. It’s not that I need or want this functionality, but it gives the light such a unique design feature.

No brass whistle please. I don't enjoy the aftertaste of brass in my mouth.

Many people like the whistle, Me too.

These are currently on sale for $11.

I just ordered one as it looks pretty nice.

Sorry, I was saying the F6 is on sale. What is different about the F6S?

JasonWW,
You can hurry up and cancel your order.
The extras (whistle) that makes this light different do not actually work.

Why would I do that? I’m buying a light, not a whistle.

The whistle of F6S works all the time. It is much better than F6. Did you try it?

All the time I mean F6.
As I mentioned below, I bought 2 of them for a gift, but given the quality they did not reach their purpose. Now I do not need them either.
The problem is only in the whistle…

Can someone confirm F6S is better than F6? Can post some pictures for side by side comparison? Thanks.

Pictures won’t show if anything is better, just if they are different. You won’t know the S model is better until you blow on it.

Yes, i wish to see the difference that result in improvement on f6s.

Needs to be lighter. It is ridiculously heavy for its size.
( yes, I know it is brass- but feels like lead)

Brass is heavy, unless they use aluminum, else it won’t be light.

I recently received both the F6 and F6S. Do you still want comparison pictures?

Id like to see them side by side if you don’t mind

In these pictures, the older, and now obsolete, F6 will be on the left. The new F6s will be on the right.

The new light is a bit longer in the whistle area. The old one required high velocity to make sound. The new one requires less velocity and is a bit easier to get sound from.

You can see that the new one has a black centering ring.

The different batteries.

Here you can see the new one has a slightly bent charging circuit board. The micro usb plug can still fit, but it’s a bit harder to line it up.

The new one also had a little deformation on the thread above the usb cutout. This added extra resistance turning it on and off. I took a knife and straightened that section of thread. It was an easy fix.

Charging circuits.

Drivers. (This last picture might be flipped, as I see the dates look backwards)

Functionally they are the same. Same brightness in all 3 levels. The new one had a slightly darker blue reflection on the anti-reflection coated lens.

Thanks wasn’t expecting that much detail
