You weren't the guy with the camera here were you? Cool as a ice and kept on shooting.

Those old SAAB V4s sure have a unique sound. Thanks for sharing.

It's pretty cool, seeing that old iron doing the "Scandinavian Flick."

I grew up overseas, during the heyday of Group B rallyes...while I was partial to the Audis with Michele Mouton and Walter Rorhl at the wheel, even the slowest cars in the field could accelerate from 0-100 Kph in 3 seconds flat - on gravel.

I have some great Group B vids, if anyone is interested. The Peugeot 206T16, Ford RS200, Lancia Delta and Fulvia, Audi Sport Quattro S1-S4, and the Porsche 959, duking it out. The Ferrari 288 GTO was brought to the table too late to compete, as Group B was cancelled in 1986 after a series of fatal crashes in Portugal and Finland.

These two vids are some of the best ever made about rallying. "Too fast to race," and "Still too fast to race" have some of the most amazing engine sounds ever recorded, too.

I still get goosebumps when the dump valve opens on Rorhl's car...

Too fast to race is awesome, love that vid. I had no idea there was a second one, I'm off to watch it, thanks!

A few years ago Speed had coverage of 2 seasons I think. The coverage was very good but the fact that they would never race in the US due to insurance issues killed it.

My son worked with another engineer who worked for a WRC team when Colin McRac was driving for them, lots of cool information.

I have been to every type of Pro racing but never to a WRC event :-(

Maybe my fav. rally car of all time Renault

I like the early Alpines quite a bit. Nice pics.

Haven't watched WRC in a couple years. Does Loeb still win 3 out of every four races?

Man I love WRC (and CRC as we get in Canada)...I wish we had more coverage here, and I wish we had WRC events here too.

Last time I was watching it was Sebastian Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen dominating the rallies. That was last year at least. Haven't had time to pay attention this year.

My dream is to return to New Zealand and see their WRC event :D
