i have received my light, and it is lovely looking and even teenier than i thought.
however, this is my first ātwistieā flashlight, so i wonder if you could post a bit about how to operate most effectively.
iāve pretty much figured it out, but would love to have simple step by step instructions.
for example: are folks able to operate this one handed? because the twisting action seems way
to ātightā to do this. or will the threads break in? another example: what is the best way to turn the light off?
so far, i always have to check and make sure i donāt leave it on moonlight.
iām currently running a tenergy centura AAA; i assume this is good to go.
Congrats on your new light, yes your batteries are a good choice.
Your light has 3 brightness levels. Starting from off, you twist on and get the first level.
a quick twist off and back on, and you get second level. Again quick twist off and on, you get third level. Again quick twist off and on, you get back to first level againā¦ it continues the same, each quick off on, from On, gives next levelā¦
to turn off untwist half a turn or so, until the light goes out.
here is a video:
yes it will become easier one handed once the Oring loosens up. You can test this by removing the Oring, just donāt put it under water without the Oring. It is OK not to use the Oring, if you like how easily it works one handedā¦ eventually it will work one handed with the Oring too.
It is OK to lubricate the Oring, but if you use too much, the light will become finicky and skip levels, because the oil will make contact unpredictably. So, donāt overlubricateā¦
when you twist for off, if you only twist less than 1/4 turn, the head can be pressed towards the body, or at an angle, and the light will turn on. this is not a good thing, because it can come on in your pocket, so after twisting off, do a test, push the head towards the body to make sure it is unscrewed far enough not to trigger the switch when the head is pressed.
My two arrived today and theyāre gorgeous, thank you very bright using a AAA NiMH; on 10440 the output is amazing for the size but it doesnāt take long to get hot, so i will keep an eye on it (using an Efest IMR 10440).
The pre-flash in moon mode is absolutely not an issue at all, as you have already pointed out you really need to be looking for it to notice it.
I have a tritium vial coming soon, something which iām new to; i wondered if superglue was appropriate to cement it into the slot in the light? Iāve done some searches and various products have been mentioned which are either prohibitively expensive for the single use that i need, or are difficult to get hold of in the UK, hence my fallback of superglue
