Imalent DX80 32000 lumen monster

(It will run for a long time in turbo in 20 below weather)

Thanks for pic of inside the battery pack! Still looks like a fair amount of work to actually get to the individual 18650 cells though. Definitely some soldering and shrink wrapping involved in replacing the cells. Oh well, nothing worthwhile is easy, right? :frowning:

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on one anyway. Guess I won’t worry about replacing cells for now. I’m just going to enjoy it!

I have read somewhere that Imalent is also going to offer battery packs in the near future. Even if it’s officially not for sale, this is probably what they are going to send you if your battery pack dies anyway. I mean, there is no need to send the entire light to China if they can send you just the battery pack right? Just enjoy the light! :sunglasses:

Got my DX80 today. I got free DHL express shipping from gearbest, and man it was fast. It shipped on Monday and even with the holiday, I received it yesterday (Friday). I ordered the EU version, but as someone else mentioned on this thread, they included a EU to US adapter in the package with the DX80, so I can still use the EU charger. They apparently saw it was the EU model, but was shipping to US and threw in the adapter. It was just loose in the padded envelope along with the DX80 box. Very cool that gearbest is doing that.

I haven’t had a chance to play with it yet, been out in all the black friday fun. I should have some time to finally check it out this weekend.

I’m curious why you would order EU version if your in the US.

It wasn’t $379! The best coupon/deal was on the EU version from Gearbest, and I had read in this and other forums that people had been receiving the US converter with the EU version from Gearbest. Banggood had a pretty good price for VIP4 members last week, but they don’t even offer the different versions. They just say in the description that they will include the appropriate charger for your country. I wonder if they are doing the same thing as Gearbest and just including the appropriate converter plug for your country. Plus, from following this thread, I knew that even without the converter plug, lots of people had been using laptop chargers when the first batch of US chargers had melted. And I have several old laptop chargers that are the exact voltage/amperage required by the DX80. So I knew no matter what, I would have something to charge it with. But mainly, I’m cheap! I NEVER PAY FULL PRICE. :money_mouth_face:

BG offers the converter plug for the EU deliveries.

Today I received my Imalent.
It doesn’t turn on.
I plugged the charger in but the LCD doesn’t light up, which it apparently should when loading.

Have you removed the plastic transparent disc between the battery tube and the head?

Brilliant!
It doesn’t work either now though.
With the plastic the light flashed fast for few seconds when turned on, now it doesn’t.

A friend of mine just received his DX80 and even though it had the black plug, the charger died.
So that charger issue is still not resolved.

Can you measure battery voltage from the center of the pack to the tube?

Light turns on now but oled screen never turns on.
I have no tools for measuring.

does the OLED screed turn on when the light is on?
If it does, but NOT when you charge it, the charger is dead.
If it NEVER turns on then that is a more serious problem.

It display never turns on and to be honest, i don’t think the light is that bright lol.

Too bad you don’t have a voltmeter.
I suppose it could be the battery is drained and the charger is shot. Knowing the sitting voltage of the pack would be good right now.

But if the display doesn’t turn on (ever) and the light works fine otherwise (i just expeceted 32K to be brighter i guess) it must be the display right?

Yes it could be just the display and everything else works fine, even the charger. That’s why it would be so useful to have a voltmeter.
Maybe a friend has one?

I don’t know anyone who has one.

Where did you get the light? Contact DOA ASAP I’d say. Even if you have a Voltmeter, you’r probably not going to fix it anyway.
