Sony VTC6A 3000mah,will you choose it?

It will have less voltage sag, so you can run those Haikelites on full output longer.

The VTC5A and the new VTC6A have very low internal resistance. That’s why there is little voltage sag.
But for 4.35 Volts you will need a special charger.

BTW, found the following data:
http://enecrosse.ru/akkumulyatoryi/18650/sony-us18650vtc6-30a-3000-mah.html
Note that the name states VTC6, but specs don’t match. Instead they match that minimal info that Trisky provided.

On paper it seems to be pretty much the same as VTC6, except lower capacity and higher voltage at the end of discharge. Which may even out.
If it’s not better I don’t see the point.

If they are shipped to Uruguay
Depending on the final price

Are these for sale? The OP doesn’t actually say. If so, what’s the price? Also, are they New or Used or New-old-stock cells? And, what countries can you ship to? And what’s shipping cost?

It's just a sample stage for the time being. I hope that a huge amount of production will be produced next year, and the price is favorable.

New and original batteries, but only some samples in stock

Absolutely… i upgraded all my 18650 to sony vtc5a and vtc6… vtc6a is even better just like a vtc5a ( extra mah)…

The biggest improvement with the vtc5A is the lower resistance and LESS HEAT!

If the vtc6A comes with lower resistance I would buy those if I need anymore high discharge cells.

Shouldn’t it be called the Murata VTC6A?

Well, with a company name as recognizable as “Sony”, you don’t just throw the name away for something nobody has ever heard of. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if the name itself was the biggest selling point for the buyout. Panasonic bought the Fujitsu Eneloop business, apparently just to get ownership of the Eneloop name. Now they’re marketing their own Chinese NiMH cells under the “Eneloop” name. :person_facepalming:

Totally agreed with u

I have two 4.35V chargers and really think it’s not such an issue separating 4.2V and 4.35V batteries. I have several sets of 4.35V 18650 D1 and E1 batteries I bought from MTN electronics that I run in xm-L2 lights like the Thrunite TN11SV2. With two of them in series, that Thrunite is VERY impressive.
I am starting to favor almost all of the Sony VTC offerings over say the Samsung 18650-30q. I just wish as I said above, a low internal resistance 18650 at 4.35V and somewhere over 10 amps would be a dream come true for me…

The Sony VC7 is apparently available for purchase, and a VTC7 is rumored to arrive soon.

At a 10A discharge, the VC7 will reach 3300mAh and 68 degC.

we have some Vc7 in stock, hope vtc7 will arrive soon

LG D1 and e1 is nice and cheap, but few battery is 4.35v

P=UI. will have more power

I’d be quite interested if HKJ tests show that it has a high drain performance at least equal to vtc5A. Then it’d be better because of the higher capacity.

So I’ll wait for his tests. Of course one must find a vendor that ships to his country, which is becoming increasingly difficult…

Interested depending on price and shipping

Is there a point where some of these high drain batteries might provide too much amperage for lights that use direct drive FETs?

Yes.
You’ll need a REAL driver.
