Great news! I hope The Miller is OK. It would be sad not having him around at the final stages of this awesome project.

Yeah, we are starting to wounder what is keeping him as well, a week or so without internet it reasonable but not sure what this delay is about. He said he was preparing for winter and very busy, so maybe that is it?

I assume the team has other means of communication with him if something urgent comes up… Right?

In the age of viber, messenger, skype, even facebook has option to call someone, it’s kinda strange no one can reach Miller!!!

We have not been trying that hard up to this point as he got in touch with us about a week ago to assure us he was ok, just having internet issues, getting ready for winter and feeling a little under the weather. Needless to say we didn’t feel the need to hound him after that.

Thanks GT team and Lumintop that make this dream come true

Especially for 555 member who get chance for be first who will proudly have GT. (depending on payment, shipping, distance, etc. of course)

And, yes… of course, the best hope for The Miller

For what is graphit used in LEDs?

I don’t understand or know all the details, but my Wife’s company makes precision graphite parts that are used in high temp manufacturing. She’s a former process engineer for semiconductor manufacturing, so she deals with the semiconductor industry part of the business, where her largest customer is Cree. These parts can withstand a few thousand degree temps in their furnaces without going out of spec. I really don’t know exactly how the parts are used. These companies are pretty secret about their processes and have strict non disclosure agreements.

Maybe the question should be:
For what is graphit used in LEDs manufacturing?

It sounds like the graphite is used for high temperature mold making.

I’ve seen some of the parts and they don’t look like anything to do with mold making that I’ve ever seen. To be honest, I really don’t know, and have never asked. I have some idea how the parts are machined, micro coated and cooked in 3000ºC furnaces, but don’t know how the final product is used.

JasonWW is right on about graphite being used for high temperature molds.

I’m sure he is, but perhaps not in case we are talking about. I really don’t know

I’ll plan on updating daily until The Miller returns. I’ll post a hyperlink to my original post in a new post every time I update so that people can quickly access the list instead of searching through the pages.

Ad me to the gigathrower list thanks
