Latest model Jetbeam BC40 from Dinodirect!

I have had it with them taking forever to ship. I am sick of CN"qualiy"goods as well. Two of the 4 light I have received from them have not worked when I received them, and "Ric" stopped answering my emails. I still have faith in Manafont.

I have no problem with anyone taking any length of time to ship, but I do not like them being dishonest. It is impossible to get a direct answer from DD live chat. It usually goes like this:

Do you have the item in stock?

Don't worry, it is a nice light. it will be shipped soon.

But, do you have the light in stock or not?

Don't worry we will do our best to ship everything fast.

But, please tell me if you have the item in stock. If you have it in stock why haven't you shipped it after three weeks of taking the order? It still shows as in stock at your website.

Don't worry, we will take care of everything.

Then you get messages like "your item was shipped on the 2nd", "no, your item was shipped on 28th"-- "no, your item was really shipped on the 15th" .. "wait a minute, it was shipped on the 42nd of March 1956...."

It is this kind of business practice I am sick of...

What exactly are we talking about??

If you read post #13 carefully you would have noticed the tracking number you tracked is for a different order.

That order was placed much later than the order for the Jetbeam. I already got that shipment.

The jetbeam order was placed on December 14. Every other order I placed with DinoDung shipped with a tracking number. I got all of them.

Somehow, when they could not give me a straight answer to my enquiries in late December and early January I knew that I will not see this flashlight. It was obvious from the way they kept changing their stories.It is strange the missing order is the only one that was shipped without tracking!

If they actually shipped an item don't they have a record of it ? How can they give me different ship dates, changing back and forth?

Because when an item was not shipped you need to give a bogus ship date, and then you forget about the bogus ship date.. There is no record too go back and check.

I believe Dino have learned a lesson.I can imagine a memo like .."With immediate effect all staff members are required to write down the bogus ship date and other information given to customers so we can lie with some consistency...."

I thought in the interest of fairness I should redress the balance re. Dinodirect, and offer my slightly different experience of the same deal.

I also ordered the discounted BC40 on the 14th December, but with Christmas and the Chinese New Year approaching, accepted I would probably be in for a long wait, so i never bothered to email them, I just waited.

I was sent 4 "Thanks for your patience" emails, each with "Dinopoints". Firstly (and surprisingly quickly) 50 points on the 17th Dec, 3 days after ordering, then 100 points on the 21st, 150 points on the 29th, and finally another 200 points on the 3rd January! This meant a further $5 off the already discounted price, bringing it down to a superb £25-GBP.

I received "order completed/shipped" and photo emails on the 8th January, and received the torch a very quick 8 days later in the UK!

I was also delighted to find when switching the torch on for the first time that I was sent the new "neutral-white" version, which I find so much easier on the eye than the cold-white leds. The torch is a joy to use, with no irritating epilepsy modes, just a simple twist of the head to change from low to high. The throw is superb and the flood more then adequate. It doesn't provide quite the wall of light the my Fannyfire 3900 does, but it throws further and is a more practical torch for regular use.

All in all I have to say my experience of Dinodirect has been nothing but positive.

I hope you eventually get satisfaction with your order matjok, perhaps it's best to not communicate with them, but just place an order and forget it until something arrives .

I did, and I just escalated it to a claim.

However I just wanted to post the details here. I don't like it one bit when someone tries to scam me or even play games with me. When they do I try my best to expose them as much as possible.

I contacted them first three weeks after the order was placed and the status was still showing "order placed". I believe it is a reasonable wait before trying to find out why the item you paid for (that shows in stock at their website) did not ship.

The strange thing is, they claim it is shipped on January 8th, but still the status of my order shows as "order paid" at their website!!!!

I agree entirely, and it does sound like you've been given the runaround. I wonder if they miscalculated for the re-stock and found they didn't have enough to fulfil all the orders.

Whatever the situation though, they really shouldn't lie to customers. I'm sure if they were honest about the situation most people would be happy to wait a little longer, especially if they keep adding discount points in compensation. It just annoys people and creates a reallly bad impression when companies try to deceive. Not good business practice for anyone involved.

The BC40 is a great flashlight though, and I would recommend it if you're still considering getting it elsewhere.

I didn't get any dino points, just dino lies, lots and lots of them! Even now they are telling me my order is out of stock, but 'live sh!t' says it 'in stock'!

FWIW, when I received my order the status on DD Order Tracking was still pending "Order Approved".

I went on live chat because Kreisler went on yesterday, on my behalf to ask if the item was in stock, it was! Look at 'livelies' conversation, see how quickly the item suddenly becomes 'out of stock' LOL!

Th sad part is that in a short while most of us will forget the fact that DD is a bunch of crooks. DD will come up with another super sale or whatever when they have enough seconds, defectives and returned merchandize on stock and people will definitely give them their money. Some will get reasonable bargains, some will never know what is wrong with the item, some will never even see the item they paid for. What DD actually is is clearly mentioned at the beginning of the "Avoid Dino Dung" thread. The lies and dino games will continue....

If you go to the AVOID post I posted the rest of the conversation. It will be interesting to see what happens next!

Have you heard the saying "Actions speak louder than words? Many of us here have posted here details of the runaround we get from Dino. What is your explanation for that? What is your excuse for taking orders for an item and later telling the buyers that item is out of stock (only when they keep pestering you for information) when according to your own people the item is in stock for a higher price? What is your excuse for telling people the item shipped when it is obvious that you never shipped the item (because you keep changing the ship date). Reading through the many experiences people had with your company posted in the "Dino Direct-AVOID" thread it does not take a genius to figure out your business motto.Your policy is to make money no matter how you do it. You do not honor a price you advertised in the first place. You do not tell the truth regarding the status of an item, ship date, availability or anything else. Your customer service can never give a straight and honest answer to a question other than saying 'this is great item", "We are preparing such items very well" (what the hell does that mean?!!!!!), you have a huge problem telling the truth. In other words Dino Direct is a business whore. We have had enough of your lies and EMPTY words. Please do not insult our intelligence by giving us more of your sweet talk and your fake politeness..

If you really mean what you are saying now how about explaining to Marcl and many other members here why they are being told the item they bought and paid for is out of stock when it is available for purchase at a higher price? How about telling me why the flashlight I bought was never shipped?

I am not buying into your fake politeness or any of the hollow words. If you mean anything at all, please give us an explanation of why you did what you did. Enough of the BS. I have no intention of buying anything from Dino in the future anyway, no matter how attractive the deal is. I want to keep my distance from people with dishonest business practices.
