FR6/L91 = 14500?

I was wondering if FR6/L91 batteries are the same as 14500.

I'm considering buying a nikon coolpix camera and it can use 4 FR6/L91 batteries for better runtime than alkalines or ni mh. So i was thinking about trustfire flames 14500's.

Those L91 batteries are 1.5v

Also different lithium chemistry.

I just did a search of FR6-L91 battries, some appear to be 1.5v and others 2.15v, my googleing skills may be off though.

14500s are 3.7v (about 3.5v empty, 4.2v full)

NO NO NO!!! L91s are around 1.8v fresh out of the pack

14500 are 4.2v of the charger you will destroy the camera

thank you, any idea where to get these batteries and which brand for a decent price/quality?

if you want rechargeables with the voltage of a L91 look at Ni-Zn rechargeable

i got some from a eBay seller and they are good so-far

this is where i bought my ones http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Recycle-Powers-Store/_i.html

much appreciated!

NiZn rechargeables are quite sensitive to correct charging, and will have very short lives if not treated exactly as required.

Despite the lower voltage, most AA powered cameras work perfectly well with normal NiMH rechargeable batteries. Probably a better bet over the long term.

NiZn have a life of 300 cycles and need apposite charger

FR06 are LiFeS2 at 1,5v and maybe L91 are the same ...here energizer ultmate here called l91/fr06 so take care NiZn are 1,9v fullcharged x4 may give troubles to your cam, imho better eneloop

add found LiFeS2 at Dx not cheap for 2 primary(avoid)

I have just checked my Energizer L91 batteries, two years old and they are still 1.8V
