[Review] Thorfire BLF Q8 4x18650 flashlight

Actually, I found no signs of compression on the shrink-wrap and ran them for a good while and all 4 were basically 3.4xV showing good contact. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them as long as you are aware of the bump-in-the-night thing.

I got the button-tops on the way, so…

Yeah, I have button top 30Qs in mine now, and protected GAs in my wife’s Q8.
The VTC6’s are my goto for our D4s.

Does a discount code currently exist for the Q8? Is it just me or is it out of stock on BG.

Thx

I know this is an old thread but where’s the best place to get the BLF Q8? Thanks in advance.

Hi, what would be a good offer price for the BLF Q8?

BangGood is carrying the light. Current price is around $50 US.

Thorfire has posted the Q8 on their Amazon US store with a promo code that got mailed to me to bring the price down to $50 as well. I don’t want to to spoil that code so I wont post it, check with M4DM4X on his deal thread and web site for codes. If you can’t find it elsewhere, PM me.

BG sells em originally
there should be discount for 48.5$

there are some on Amazon and Ebay.com

Will it work with Flat Top Samsung 30Q?

I was originally in the GB for the Q8. When PM's went out to pay, it was bad timing.

Did I snooze or lose? I lost. LOL!!! I still want one.

Sorry, I have not followed the Q8 thread. Are the bugz all worked out in them?

No, you need Button Top 18650 batteries (ideally high drain) such as Button Top Samsung 30Q

Best Regards,

George

All "problems" were fixed after the first batch, and the "problems" did not affect the Q8's operation in the first place.

And Thorfire's after sales service has been Very Good, although slow.

Best Regards,

George

Lovely review.

Does anyone know what AWG the cable is that goes to the emitters?

Hi

Great review, thanks!

The Button top Samsung 30Q are 3.6v and I was looking for a charger for these and came across the Nitecore i4 Intelligent Multi Battery Charger however it states 3.7v does this mean I can use the i4 to charge these Samsung batteries?

Thank you

Umar

Yes, these batteries is what the i4 charger is for. The 3.7V is the nominal voltage of these batteries, while fully charged they are at 4.2V.

Yes you can.

3.6V and 3.7V are the same (approximated) Voltage. Most say 3.6, some say 3.7.

Thanks guys for the quick responses, much appreciated, will buy the i4 now!

is a good source for nominal voltages

Thanks, just having a read of the table now on the website.

As you can tell I am an ameture torchfanatic, still learning!

you are welcome. Batteries are a whole subject on their own, fairly interesting but it can get complex once you get into the chemistry part of it.

Welcome to BLF, you will see that the folks on here are very helpful and kind people.
