[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

Thanks JasonWW,
Yes of course I lowered the charger to to its lowest 0.1 for the 10180`s.

The Miboxer C4-12 does look good especially for the money and would love that 3.0A 1 hour charge.
But the build quality of the Xtar is the best of any charger I have ever had.
Yes it is very expensive and cost me over AU$100.
But it really is a good charger,
I love it.

Did you see the picture of the small metal pieces that come with Gryafalcon , Still not sure how they fit in.

@SILIWANGIPARAHYANGAN
Hello there is only one design (Final)

It really helps to click the “qoute” button on the post you want to reply to. This gives a reference for what your saying. There are so many conversations going on I forget what I said and to who, sometimes.

I saw those L shaped pieces. I don’t know how they fit. Have you ever contacted Gyrfalcon and asked them?

Maybe they attach to the sliding blade that touches the negative end of the battery. I assume it is some kind of spacer, but it’s hard to tell without it in my hands to figure out the puzzle.

I forgot about that in my excitement. Those numbers are at 6A.

At 5A it still gets ~1200m throw (will know better once I get the centering rings printed). Compared to 1250m for the 70cri version (this could change slightly with final focusing).

So it looks like this LED is around ~10% less output based on the throw numbers compared to the 70CRI version.

This means it should still be over 6000 lumens at 5A and over 7000 lumens at 6A.

That trade off is a no brainier for me with the improved CRI and vastly improved tint shift.

The XHP 70.2 results are very nice. Cant imagine what would it look like if it was a DD setup. Either way, could you post a few beamshots for us, mere mortals, who do not have it yet?
And I have 2 other questions.

  1. How does the GT handle the heat from the XHP 70.2? Does it get hot if you let it on the “high” or “turbo”?
  2. What would be the throw of a sliced XHP 50.2 at 5 amps? Would it be worth modding or not?

I will try to get some beamshots after I print off a centering ring and get the focus sorted out so as to give the correct impression.

It gets warm for sure but I have not ran it for more then a few minutes at a time so far. It handles the power better then any other light I have but I still expect it to get too hot to hold if ran long enough at room temperature.

A 50.2 could have some good results indeed, the issue would be finding a 12V DTP mcpcb that would fit in this light (aka, is big enough).

Finally my payment has been made for my 2 lights

I still wonder about The Miller’s prolonged absence (Almost 3 weeks) I have read the updates and all but I can’t keep my mind from wondering why he just decided to drop off the face of the forum completely. I wish him well…

Maybe just a post, to let us know how is everything going…

I own several Xtars and while they are good, having the new Miboxers will change your mind.

Samsung 35E seem ideal, high mAh and good amps.

24.99 on Ebay

5 amps might be a little too much for a xhp50. If you adjusted the amperage to about 4A you’d get about 4,600 lumen with the dome on.

I think the xhp line from Cree scales pretty easily. When pushed fairly hard you get:
Xhp35-HI - 2700 lumen - 2200 meters
Xhp50.2 sliced - 3900 lumen - 1900 (estimated)
Xhp70.2 sliced - 6000 lumen - 1600 meters

So I would say maybe 1900 meters throw and you’d get a hotspot size in between the 35 and 70.2.

The Xtar is 19.98

Wrong one. That one only does 0.8A x 4. We were talking about the C4-12. It is a completely different charger.

Also the wrong one. We were refering to the xtar Dragon.

Sorry, just trying to help. I know earlier in the post people where looking for cheaper chargers. My bad :person_facepalming:

No problem. There are good deals floating around.

The VC4 is cheaper because it can only do 0.5A x 4. If you dont mind slower charging, you can get a cheaper charger like it. The more power or features you want, the higher the price.

BTW, anyone looking for the Miboxer C4-12 ahould use the search phrase “miboxer 3a”. Especially on the aliexpress site. C4-12 just doesn’t show up well.

Well I have to get 1 now.
Never have I heard so many talk about a charger like this.

I wounder if the team that built the BLF C8 , GT Giga etc could be persuaded to build the ` Ultimate Charger ` a BLF Li-ion Charger ?

Anybody know where the best deal on these Miboxers might be ?
Need AU plug if possible.

Please add me to the list, thanks.
