[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

Right here. No one said it was a clear button. It is a translucent black.

See anything familiar with GT photo? Curved edge glass reflection !!! Just from a different angle it can look as a crack! END !

Still no clue as to what the two parts packaging will look like…

Thank you Nikolas, I think we can put the broken gt glass issue to bed… with no dinner I might add.

True, but for making use of such formally proper calculation we would need specific values for a given scenario. When we just want to find out if it’s even close to floating, it really is that easy. More liters than kilograms and it will float in lake water. Less; it will not.

Of course it’s not anything like a diving light so the light being even somewhat close to a density of just 1 (kg/dm^3) is just an interesting observation, not that much of a feature. Still interesting though; other heavy duty aluminum lights of more typical smaller size are much heavier per volume.

You were expecting an answer in 26 minutes? It might be days before we see a picture of that. Please have some patience.

:+1:

It is indeed a very interesting discovery. With a little bit of shaving on some spots we could have had a flashlight that wouldn’t only be a king of throw but it would also float :open_mouth: . That would be a real selling point!
Realistically though, that would require a lot of aluminium being removed as these numbers were all without the batteries and carriers installed…

Well. I did asked it a couple days ago but didn’t got any response it. Neal was very busy that time (I hope is now enjoying his personal time!) so he could easily missed that question.
Some would think that because we see only these boxes that the 2 box shipment consists of 2 of these boxes each with halve of the GT inside it?

Exactly…… And it may well be there is no picture of the two box shipping at all. You may see what it looks like when it arrives at your door.

As long as it gets delived safe & sound…… what difference does seeing a picture make anyway??

I have some good news! The first 170 GT’s are shipped today! The rest will be shipped continuously, so the GT’s are on its way! Merry Christmas to you all from Lumintop!

Hooray! Let them roll!!

From where did you get the information about that 170 Gt ´s were shipped out?

Merry Christmas to all members.

Hey that TN42 has a crack in the lens. :zipper_mouth_face: :person_facepalming: :stuck_out_tongue:

We should make a floor mat game with conclusions on it and then we jump on it.

This post is made in jest.

Damn, 400 pages :o

Are these 170 random GT’s or are they in order as they appear in the lists?

And 12000 posts

This is just a repository for older shipping news. This way it keeps post #1 smaller and easier to read.

The first shipment of lights (168 total) shipped on Dec 27. This was a pallet going to the USA from the first 576th person on the paid list that did NOT include batteries. Tracking numbers went out on Dec 27 and lights started arriving to customers on Dec 29th.

The second shipment of lights (194 total) shipped January 3rd. This was a pallet going to the USA from the first 740th person on the paid list that DID include batteries. Tracking numbers went out on Jan 3rd. Lights started arriving on January 5th.

The first 2 shipments went out by region instead of the exact order in which we paid, for cost reasons and because there were not enough DHL orders to fill a pallet for anywhere except the USA.

The third shipment of lights (138 total?) shipped on Jan 8/9th with and without batteries through DHL in Finland, Norway, Switzerland, Serbia, Germany, Canada, Malaysia and Australia. Some people got notifications, some didn’t. I have not heard of any registered mail packages shipping yet.

Only a few tracking numbers went out on Jan 9th and lights started arriving to customers on Jan 10th. Apparantly Lumintop was very slow to give Neal the tracking info or info on which lights they sent.

4 shipments have been made. A little over 600 lights in total. So there are a little over 200 more lights to ship from the current group of paid customers. This is a mix of early and late purchases. Mostly people who requested registered mail shipping.

A 4th shipment of about 125 lights went out on Jan 19th. This is a mix of USA and international orders. Several of these lights have already been delivered to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Amsterdam, Slovenia etc… FedEx and TNT are also being used.

Well darn it, my D1S lens is cracked too.
