What is the brightest budget light?

That's really bright! I thought it was a car light.

120 lumens ain't that bright, PAISLEY enthusiast.

I think he's PAISLEY too. I've seen three of his five posts all with pictures (none personal) with two links to the same seller.

blinding!

must be low mode.

by the way, how does the paisley pattern relate to spam? ( i dont get it or i lost it )

:)

Foy's response to a spammer when asked " What is your favorite "

He replied " I lke walks on the beach , sushi , and things that are paisley ."

It should be the DRY now. $65 shipped, 2500 lumens OTF. $38.4 OTF lumens per dollar. Remember, it is OTF.

Throw it would be the $85 shipped Dereelight DBS aspheric with EZ900 XR-E. 95k cd (some more, some less). Cheaper bracket would be the Small Sun ZY-C10-S (45k cd?) at 14 bucks.

where is the DRY available for $65 shipped?

+1

It was the group buy price, but it ended.

so it really isn't available for $65 shipped. i suppose there is a chance of another promotion though.

I'm thinking my Chinese would sound similarly stupid if I tried to wax poetic and/or casual talk on a Chinese language forum.

I tried to "Google Translate" one of Foy's classic posts... into Chinese! This is what it came up with:

我喜歡在沙灘上散步,壽司佩斯利事情是
我恨海報假裝關心我現在使用什麼型號發光二極管手電筒
垃圾郵件福伊

Apparently Google Translate had some trouble. :)

EDIT: I took Vectrex's advice. LED is now "light emitting diode."

try again with "light emitting diode" or "光二极管"

It looks cooler in Chinese. Reminds me of mahjong.

If DIY is not too much of an issue I believe this:

($13.62 ignoring shipping costs)

Could potentially be a game changer when it comes to budget lights (all you need is a little know how and a decent host). About as bright as 2 XMLs at 1/2 the cost. Who said Crees newest LEDs are no good in flashlights. :)

Wow, there's some good recommendations in this thread! I don't have a lot to offer for this question (as others gave some darn good responses), but I thought some of you may be interested in checking out this upcoming site: http://signup.litemynite.com

Looks like they're going to be an e-commerce store solely focusing on supplying lighting equipment, like flashlights, headlamps and all that stuff. Might be a good place to purchase lighting from in the future.

I think the Stanley HID still holds its own in terms of Lumens and Lux per dollar. I paid $75 for mine, but I have since heard of others getting them on sale for the $30 ball-park. Its around 3200 bulb lumens (over 2500 OTF), includes battery, charging system (a good one too I might add), 12V vehicle connectivity and a long running LED array good for ~20 lumens.

its not only a lot of lumens and lux per $... its also LOT of features overall.
