Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Thanks for posting about this latest deal. i checked using the brickseek link for zipcode 35603 and found a nearby store that had 160 on hand, and 159 saleable. Plus numerous stores in TN and GA that still had full pallet quantities available.

So i drove over and there were none to be seen. i used the in-store pc and clicked on price-check, but couldn’t find them under “flashlights”, but later tried “spotlights” and it came up at the $4.98 price. Now it was just a matter to find that pallet full of lights.

Indeed it was a full pallet still in the shrink wrap up on the top rack a few aisles over.

There was an interesting label on the palleted boxes: HOLD FOR MET PROJECT FLASHLIGHT BLOWOUT QP ???Wonder what that is all about? Some of the HD workers thought these might have been from Black Friday specials. But it appears that there are numerous stores downs here near the mother ship that have full pallets up on the top rack and no clue that they are there.

The boxes assembled into display stands with a $9.88 price, then they printed out a new label to cover that and show the $4.98, which is a super deal on a quality light—it throws a long 320 m beam, has 2 modes with the trigger switch, runs 12 hours on 3 C-cells.

But if you can’t find any near you and want to pay for shipping i’ll grab some for you.

The SKU in the store is different than the brickseek link, it is 1001-596-206. Try that one and see if some show up.

Home Depot says none within 100mls of my zipcode

I would take you up on the offer of shipping. Actually make that 2.

Let me know the total cost and I’ll PayPal or wire you the moneys

You would need to send me a PM with address info and any shipping preference, etc.

The blister pack light is 10x11x4” and weighs 2.06 lbs. By themselves, one spotlight with batteries weighs 1.52 lbs and the volume is ~ 7x7x3.7”.

So 2 bare lights will fit in a medium flat rate box, 11x8.5x5.5, shipping cost is $13.60.

The large FR box is 12x12x5.5 and would only hold 1 in the blister package for $18.85.

The driver board is 1.25” diameter, there is a Q1 N-FET NCE2060K, and U1 is an 8-pin ic that has been sandblasted to remove the part number, and U2 is a 5-pin with tab ic, D7136. i don’t like that big solder ball, it indicates lack of wetting of the solder to the wire and the device and is likely to fail as a cold-solder joint.

The battery carrier has 3 spring-loaded pins on each end and can be inserted either direction, it is polarity insensitive.

I went to a local store to see if they had any of the hand held spot lights. I had already searched with the site provided by Sigster and only 1 local store came up
Here is why, they have pennied out!

What this means is that if your local store does NOT come up, then it could be it has pennied out there also.

Find one and it could be a penny.

Here is the one store in my area that had stock.

Also, here are a couple of other deals I came across.

It is very unusual to see anything at 90% off

These Dewalts are 30% off

These Fisker loppers are $19.97

But right around the corner was this display with the same long handle lopper with FREE pruner for only $4.92!

See, they are the same.

I bought 8, friends took 7.
Maybe I should have bought them all? (there were 32)

The Defiant led puck lights have 3 modes: hi, lo, and flashing strobe.

Like before the 8-pin microcontroller has the part number etched off—seems that’s their practice. There is a 20V, 2.3A P-mosfet A1SHB, and an S4 Schottky blocking diode. Makes 110 lemons and runs 8 hours on 3 AA cells, throw is 6 meters. Here is led array under the diffuser and the circuit board.

Hit up Home Depot today and No discounts on any of the Christmas special bins.
Anyone know what date they will start based on past years?

Been waiting for a post to this thread since Xmas, looking to see what deals are found.
15*F out and don’t wanna go out unless I get a deal.
No spot lights within 50 miles of me. :frowning:

^

I hit the Harbison Blvd (in Columbia, SC) HD last night. No Christmas gift items were discounted significantly yet. I imagine they would probably have folks try to return at full price and buy back at discounted price in mass if they discount so close to Christmas.

EDIT: Gift items like drills and flashlights. Not Christmas decorations.

That whole pallet of spotlights near me is already gone, but i found another store with a pallet of 180 that they don’t know they have…good deals don’t last.

XMAS stuff around here is 50-75% off

if you live near an ACE hardware theirs is 75% off

I bought 3 spools of LED lights 300 count multi colored for $4 a spool this AM

going back in the AM to see what else I can find. I bought some of those projector spotlights from ACE for $4 as well and some giant LED snowflakes for $2

Yeah, after I saw your post I dashed over to HD after supper. Got some Christmas lights for 75% off.
I also grabbed one of the 3C spot lights. Earlier in the week my store had 18 of them. 14 were in plain site with the gifting displays but were not priced. The other 4 were on the bottom of the flashlight shelves in hardware. Last night the whole display of 14 were gone, but those other 4 were still there. So I figured is was now or never……………

A friend of mine halfway across the country sent me this picture today. He was out scouting all the Christmas light stuff that is 75% off and came across this.
A Lithium powered Snow Blower!
It comes with 2 - 56V, 5Ah batteries. I have seen the insides of those EGo batteries and each one would contain 28 2.5Ah cells

This is a single stage blower, the kind with the paddles. I use a 26” Toro 2 stage thrower and a Toro CCR 4 cycle blower for the walkway and trim. I just wonder how that EGo would perform if I were to use it to replace that CCR.

Interesting snow blower. I see people reporting about 30 min runtime on 2 5Ah batteries. Enough to clear a small driveway. Probably a good idea to have two more batteries on standby.

So you are saying 15 minutes per 5.0Ah battery. (I first read that at 30 minutes per 2.5Ah battery) :person_facepalming:

That’s just what one of the reviewers said:

Yeah, snowblowers and cars shouldn’t be run on batteries

Seems like for $220 a battery Id be using an extension cord or a can of gas. But luckily I’m in Florida and just need a leaf blower for the beach sand.

Right now, Home Depot (and Lowes) are selling these motion lights for $2.50 each. Home Depot had them originally for $9.98 and Lowes got $19.98

In each there are 3 LED’s of different colors depending on the model with a slowly spinning lens. There is an additional lens built into the dome. I took one apart so that we could all see what’s inside.
I almost forgot, the include a stake so that they can be used outside. Trouble is, in my opinion they are not bright enough for that. More useful inside, so a made some bases out of wood.

This particular model was called multicolor and 3 LED’s, Red, Green and Blue. Only way to get a shot of the 3 LED’s was to place a diffuser over them.

At this price, they won’t last long, it could be fun to pick up a couple to play around with.
Heck, parts alone are worth it!

I will confirm these aren’t worth crap outdoors. I wouldn’t even take them if the store paid me to take them. I was absolutely disgusted with wasting good money on these last year.
