Blade steel on the Filter is 4Cr14 according to Kershaw’s website (I thought it was 8Cr13MoV)
But maybe the Walmart version is 3Cr13. Both steels are 420-ish class
I saw some people received the Filter with differing steel types, mine is 8Cr13MoV.
It’s very nice for the price. I don’t mind a softer steel because it means I can sharpen it at home easier. At $15 I don’t expect it to hold it’s edge forever.
Also I was apprehensive of the pocket clip being deep-carry because I strongly dislike deep-carry clips on flashlights, but despite being larger than the Ganzo in every way it sits very nice in the pocket.
i bought a sanrenmu 71010 and the blade doesnt center in the gap when folded.
can i adjust this by screwing or unscrewing the pivot torx screw? (i dont have torx that small yet)
Wow, nice blades you have there! :+1:
How long does it take to finish a sword like that?
If you`re interested in budget folders than you should have a look at the Ganzo FB7601 / FB7603 line too. Axis-lock with ball bearings is a good combo.
Received today, 3 SanRenMu’s (from GB, took 3 weeks to arrive)
the tiny 7129 : very thin & lightweight, thumbstuds are tiny so a bit harder to flick open. Looks like a tiny version of the Ruike P801.
the beefy Land 9046 : blade is chisel grind (with secondary bevel on the main edge), looks a bit tactical for a utility knife but I like it. Also less heavy than I thought.
the small fixed blade 7130 : good too, sheath is plastic but very good retention, absolutely no rattling. In picture I have it compared to the Izula clone (supposedly D2 blade steel but I doubt it ) which is a little bit thicker, with kydex sheath but bit of rattle inside.
All bevels are good, superb fit & finish as (nearly) always with SRM
