[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

I have got to be one of the world’s stupidest people.

More 1,000 people have managed to sign up for the GT, so what is my problem?

I read the OP to the this thread four times. I read post #1 of of the thread at this link thread four times.

I verified the way the first five posts are used in that thread matches the explanation provided in post #1 of that thread and how this thread is slightly different and the difference is not confusing me.

I understand how the lists for the group buy work. 555 lights will be sold for $111, the rest on the list will be able to buy for $150. I understand that once on the list, there will be PMs sent to me with details on what I need to do to complete my order. I understand that I will be added to the list if I ask to be added. I understand the wisdom of patience as the process unfolds and am certain I can be patient. I trust everything about this project and I know nothing is perfect and think that is awesome. I understand that the following words will work when asking to be added to the list:“I want one.”

I understand being on the list will lead to me getting instructions via PM that when followed will result in a GT arriving at my house. In fact

I want one.

I want to be added to the list.

Here is what I do not see or understand:

I do not see or understand WHERE or to WHAT ADDRESS I must send or post the words

“I want one.”

Is this the right place?

I understand that if this is the right place, I am going onto the list, whether my question receives an answer or not.

However I would very much appreciate an answer and and if possible, a pointer to where the information is posted so I can find out how I missed it.

Thank you.

This project is super awesome. The expertise of the leaders is fantastic. The GT is best in the world for what its purpose is.

I want one, please.

Thank you again. I wish I was not so stupid. I hate being stupid.

Yep, this is the right place. Now that we’ve posted here, we need to be patient and wait to be PM’d for payment details. (In the next month or so, from what I understand.)

Yes, this is the right place to say if you want one.
Coyotehawk will add you to his sign up list. You’ll see your name when he does the next update. It will be sometime early next month when you are emailed with the details of where to go and how to order.

If you plan to buy batteries, please sign up for them in that link I have. This let’s the guys know how many sets they need to keep on hand.

Welcome to BLF.

You post your interest in this thread.

Which you did.

And WELCOME to BLF!

Just my extra posts to Kindle and Racoon City. Not all my posts.

UPDATES: It appears that the first couple of shipments are going out by region instead of the exact order in which we paid for cost reasons. Initial quality has been fantastic.

The first shipment of lights (168 total) shipped on Dec 23. This was a pallet going to the USA from the first 550th person on the paid list that did not include batteries. Tracking numbers went out on Dec 27 and lights started arriving to customers on Dec 29th.

A second shipment of lights (size unknown) shipped Dec 27. Location unknown. No tracking numbers recieved yet.

There should be a European order going out in January.

O.K.

I got a notice of shipment via DHL a few days ago (USA) but tracking number doesn’t work yet, I guess its not actually been sent yet? I’m in no real rush, but would just like to know what others experience is.

New “ Drop test report “dropped a piece of the flashlight on my toe thank God it was just tail cap but even that hurts

Mine showed up today. It is a ridiculously large and amazing light. It really takes two hands to hold.

Yes, i have four 1.2kg flashlights for 4 years and i think i am prepared for GT. This 2.2kg GT will really make flasholics beginners either amazed or regret.

Not exactly; I have a tracking number. I’ve posted this at least twice. I received a notification from Neal that my light (I ordered cells) shipped on the 28th. Its somewhere between Boston and my AO (Area of Operation) (I assume it’s in Augusta [30 miles away] but hasn’t gone through a scanner yet) and is scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday.

I suspect, but I have no proof, that folks in the USA who ordered their lights with cells are being used for “filler” on pallets. That would explain why I have my tracking number. I think I was early on the paid list in the USA and wanting cells (maybe first?). It would make sense to me that yes, they would fill a pallet, but it would also make sense that identical packages with the same weight and destination would be processed at the same time. I assume mine was just “filler” and a one off. But now they know what that order weighs and the rest will follow smoothly. At least that’s how I’d do it if I was shipping what they are. I’d make it easy on myself and clump similar orders/weights/destinations together. But I have no inside information.

Let’s look at it logically… to the USA they have packages w/o cells and packages with cells. Two weights. Processing them as a group is easy. Processing them as individuals adds complexity. How would you do it as a shipper? I think I fell through a crack to fill a need on their part with my oddball order (for that pallet).

Apologies to the folks in other countries, but the fact is that the USA is a huge market for the Chinese and if one is filling a pallet Tano Tuva just doesn’t require a pallet. Order more lights from your country (or increase the population) and you’d get your own pallet. Don’t blame us. It makes sense for Neal to fill the most orders as easily as he can first, then take the time to fill orders that require individual attention. It’s the way you’d also do it if you were in his shoes. It greatly reduces the amount of complaints that are time related by taking care of the biggest market first. Like it or not, he did it correctly from a business standpoint and to reduce the number of inquiries.

Hey! I also ordered batteries with my light but so far I have not heard anything regarding shipment yet

I want my light too!

No, everyone that recieved the tracking info on the 27th has a light from that first shipment. They started showing up on the 29th. So yours is on the way.

Okay, I probably skipped past the part were you said you ordered batteries.

I think your the only person to get a tracking number who has ordered batteries. I assume it’s from that first order, from the 23rd, though. Maybe they messed up and left out the batteries? I’m curious to find out. Let us know when you receive it.

BrianK, I think our lights are in Boston from what I can tell. Mine was supposed to be here yesterday, but now I have to wait until Tuesday… Hopefully Tuesday…

Jason, I think my order was a pallet filler since I was possibly the first to pay who wanted cells from the USA. Or they didn’t include the cells. Both are possibilities.

Tuesday will tell the tale. I hope it’s the first and not the latter. I absolutely hate trying to make things right but I have cells for myself, but this light and cells is for my brother and I’ll wait for the 2nd light.

Edit: Pulsar, tracking tells me that mine was forwarded to “me” a day or so ago. I just think they didn’t get it through a scanner yet. Heck, even if they take secondary roads it doesn’t take all of that time to get to the DHL building in Augusta. I think they gave the folks who work there the holiday weekend off. :) The Augusta “hub” isn’t much. It’s just a hole in the wall and not much else. Maybe one van to handle the “load”. I bet they don’t have more than a handful of employees at best up here; I suspect far fewer employees. I’ve been there and there is no answer when one pushes the door bell during business hours. :) Welcome to Maine.

I have no idea why the text above is struck out. That was not my intention but an artifact of the software.

It’ll all work out in time, I have no doubt.

No one is sending out status information. That is why you have not recieved it.

There is a paid/shipping list (a bit outdated), but it shows you are on it and that your order is correct. Now everyone just waits until their light is shipped. Once your light ships, THEN you will get a shipping notice.

So far we have only gotten a couple hundred shipping notices and that was for the usa, with no batteries. There are many more shipments to be sent.
