If I am reading it correctly, KB IS NOT taking the bezel off.

He is taking the head apart… seperating the reflector section from the section containing the switch & LED.

UPDATES: It appears that the first shipment went out by region instead of the exact order in which we paid for cost reasons. Initial quality has been fantastic.

The first shipment of lights (168 total) shipped on Dec 23. This was a pallet going to the USA from the first 576th person on the paid list that did not include batteries. Tracking numbers went out on Dec 27 and lights started arriving to customers on Dec 29th. DHL shipping was very fast.

There should be a European order going out in January.

The next group to purchase lights (#1000 and up on the list) will get their emails mid January instead of early January in order to let Neal get caught up with current orders.

I got the receipt from paypal. I was just wondering because on the payment page it’s specifically written
Quote:
PLEASE reply to that mail with your phone number and BLF username (some shipping needs that) to speed things up otherwise Neal has to contact you in case the number is needed which takes time to mail back and fourth and your light gets dusty meanwhile

Let’s see what happens /crosses fingers. And Happy New Year folks.

I got 2 GT’s Friday, but was out of town till today. Fired up both GT’s and caught this smoker before it smoked my reflector up!

It only happened in Turbo, so I removed the head and let it run on Turbo a few cycles, and it seems to have cleared up. I guess this is the one I’m modding! Big Smile

Really glad I logged in to see that, holly smokes that would absolutely have ruined my day, and I’m certain I wouldn’t have expected that at all so I would have been in a mess.
I’ve smoked some other reflectors and thought that was bad, this would be a nightmare scenario,
Maybe someone in the loop should send that pic to Neal and a heads up, nothing they can do about the ones already assembled but I’m darn happy to know to watch for this, thank you KawiBoy1428, wow,

Just a suggestion to save you folks fielding the unending identical questions repeated over and over… Maybe a FAQ that can be linked to for Giggles? Just handle questions that the FAQ doesn’t address and add them to the FAQ as required.

What is the best way to open the bezel? Mine has a crap ton of dust on it, I don’t get how they got so much dust on the reflector.

I have used the hose attachment on the Vacuum cleaner to suck the dust out through the emitter hole before.

Let’s hope that the European GT’s ship this week and Lumintop doesn’t wait for the second round of $150 GT’s to combine the shipment.

Maybe not a bad idea.
Even though JasonWW is posting his update post on every page, it seems some are somehow still missing it.

And I’ll just state the obvious….
It is a crying shame that the OP (#1) can still not be updated.
That in itself would help tremendously.

Coyotehawk will add your names to his sign up list. You’ll see your name when he does the next update. It will be sometime mid January when you are emailed with the details of where to go and how to order.

You can also buy 8 of the Samsung 35E batteries for $40 at the same time as you buy the light. No sign up necessary for those. There are plenty of batteries in stock. Beer

Welcome to BLF.

Agree. Is there a way to ‘sticky’ a shipping update thread so that it always at the top? It certainly would leave things looking much less convoluted.

Hmmmm….. That is actually a great idea Jerommel!!

Maybe upon reading your suggestion, if there is not a reason to not do it; they will.

Just put a link to the new “Team Giggles” GT thread in the last post of the old thread & have sb close it.

Genious idea my friend…… Thumbs Up …. Beer

The Miller set up this group buy so that all posts come through here. He did not want additional threads. Maybe he felt people would get confused by mutiple threads? IDK. It’s just unfortunate that he took ill and had to miss out on the big release of the GT. Up until then, things where going pretty smooth as he was handling things, greeting new members, updating the list and updating post #1. I think things still went pretty smooth in his absence. Yeah, we had a lot of repeat questions, but we had the same situation in the Q8 GB were post #1 was always updated. Folks still asked the same old questions. You just can’t avoid that. Lol.

Several folks in the Q8 group buy, myself included, asked for new threads just for people to say “mine is ordered” or a thread just to say “I got mine, look at it”, etc… (those types of posts take up huge space) but he did not want that.

It’s his group buy so we are somewhat limited without him. Luckily, we are almost done with the GT. Another month or two and this thread will start to dwindle.

There have been a lot a great ideas to make future group buys better, though. Maybe they can be used on the FW3A as it has not gotten into full swing, yet. There are a lot of interesting flashlight ideas floating around so I’m sure there will be future BLF designed flashlights with group buys. We learn a little more with each one on how to make things go smoother.

Starting a new thread reserved exclusively for shipping updates is what I was thinking. Then there’s just one place that’s always visible for that specific issue, and it frees up this thread for pics, “I got mine, I got mine!” posts, etc.

Just my $.02

Not sure. I’ve used it on other forums, but don’t have a clue if that’s possible here. It’s a great feature for these types of issues.
