So how do I get on the team account thx

I like the idea of the ‘wrap around’ handle because it allows adjustment for balancing the light when loaded with either 4 or 8 cells.

A clamp-on handle also seems much more secure than a handle mounted to the shallow hole of the tripod mount.

I’ve done some searching, and found plenty of things that won’t work.

My GT’s battery tube is about 56mm or 2.2” diameter at the round section.

All of the add-on handles I could find are too small. Their designs don’t allow for much wiggle room.

Nitecore NHM10
50mm, 1.97” diameter

XTAR handle for S1 or D35
46.5mm, 1.80” diameter

MecArmy CL52
52mm, 2.05” diameter

JetBeam RM46 and MCH46 combo
46mm, 1.81” diameter

I thought an accessory clamp for motorcycle forks could play a part in fabricating a handle, but I couldn’t find any larger than about 50mm.

I’ve made sturdy mounts for my Meteor and Q8 using 50mm (2”) quick-release truss clamps used in theater and stage lighting.

There are a few 60-63.5mm (2.36-2.5”) truss clamps, but they’re the less-elegant non quick-release type. They are a bit larger than the GT’s 56mm diameter.

I hope my (unsuccessful) findings can spark some other ideas for a clamp-on handle!

@goshdogit

After my search efforts not finding anything that would fit right, and I really doubt someone will custom make them. I could be assuming wrong.

I thought about something simplistic. Like two velcro straps, sewn to a ridged dacron webbed strap. The idea is a bit primitive, but it would work well.

Thanks nodoubt! I thought it would be quite a bit warmer, and was right…

yeah, i wish the gt was close to the utorch
it has about the best tint ive ever seen

I’m really hoping we can come up with something more elegant than my simplistic idea.

LOL!!!

should be able to somehow use the threads already machined into the gt to attach a handle…
hmmm… got me thinking about heading to depot or lowes now !

something like that will work, if you can find one without 2 sides, and just use the screw hole already in the gt

I'd go the hundred mile an hour tape before I went anywhere near that idea!!

I agree 100%. It is a very nice neutral tint. Maybe eventually someone will make LED boards for this light and have a choice of emitters available as a direct replacement without reflowing.

If I remember right, there was a SupFire light that had a handle that mounted to the tripod thread

Something iv been wondering is the Blf GT under driven? I have a current boosted Bkf09s that has ceiling bounce of 190 and with the GT I only get 145 max. I know larger reflectors have more reflector loss but it should not be that much. This tells me this led can be boosted a decent amount
Thoughts?

There are Add-On handles for coffee thermos's Something in the lines of these

Can’t tell you that, but can tell you this if you have a Q8.

‘To my eye’ the GT is much warmer than the Q8. Orange tint is evident in GT when side by side comparison done with Q8.

No…. I do not have pictures.

Good to see your not an Auburn fan.

Amen to that!! … Definitely not an AU fan.

Hoping to see a Bama / Bulldog showdown…. winner take all.

We each gotta get through today first though.

Good luck………

Thanks nodoubt ,as much as 4000K look good on your outside beamshots, I really doubt that I will keep it.
So far best solution for me, like Kawi did with his, a dedomed XHP35HD.

How hard is dedoming on 35HD E4 1A,and what’s the best method?

BOOOOOO———  ———- I hope they fair better than our Tigers
