Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Yeah, after I saw your post I dashed over to HD after supper. Got some Christmas lights for 75% off.
I also grabbed one of the 3C spot lights. Earlier in the week my store had 18 of them. 14 were in plain site with the gifting displays but were not priced. The other 4 were on the bottom of the flashlight shelves in hardware. Last night the whole display of 14 were gone, but those other 4 were still there. So I figured is was now or never……………

A friend of mine halfway across the country sent me this picture today. He was out scouting all the Christmas light stuff that is 75% off and came across this.
A Lithium powered Snow Blower!
It comes with 2 - 56V, 5Ah batteries. I have seen the insides of those EGo batteries and each one would contain 28 2.5Ah cells

This is a single stage blower, the kind with the paddles. I use a 26” Toro 2 stage thrower and a Toro CCR 4 cycle blower for the walkway and trim. I just wonder how that EGo would perform if I were to use it to replace that CCR.

Interesting snow blower. I see people reporting about 30 min runtime on 2 5Ah batteries. Enough to clear a small driveway. Probably a good idea to have two more batteries on standby.

So you are saying 15 minutes per 5.0Ah battery. (I first read that at 30 minutes per 2.5Ah battery) :person_facepalming:

That’s just what one of the reviewers said:

Yeah, snowblowers and cars shouldn’t be run on batteries

Seems like for $220 a battery Id be using an extension cord or a can of gas. But luckily I’m in Florida and just need a leaf blower for the beach sand.

Right now, Home Depot (and Lowes) are selling these motion lights for $2.50 each. Home Depot had them originally for $9.98 and Lowes got $19.98

In each there are 3 LED’s of different colors depending on the model with a slowly spinning lens. There is an additional lens built into the dome. I took one apart so that we could all see what’s inside.
I almost forgot, the include a stake so that they can be used outside. Trouble is, in my opinion they are not bright enough for that. More useful inside, so a made some bases out of wood.

This particular model was called multicolor and 3 LED’s, Red, Green and Blue. Only way to get a shot of the 3 LED’s was to place a diffuser over them.

At this price, they won’t last long, it could be fun to pick up a couple to play around with.
Heck, parts alone are worth it!

I will confirm these aren’t worth crap outdoors. I wouldn’t even take them if the store paid me to take them. I was absolutely disgusted with wasting good money on these last year.

paid $19.98 each did ya? :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember you complaining about them last year, I think you got them on clearance then too.
I think these are GREAT indoors It does help alot it they are shown on a white surface like a ceiling or off white colored wall.

Ours came from Big Lots at $15ea I believe. Of course the receipt was thrown away before we saw how bad they were. I did try them inside after seeing them outside and you’re right, they were acceptable at a short distance to a white wall. I’m just not sure why anyone would want them indoors. I left a scathing review on Amazon too.

BTW - Home Depot (Lowe’s too, though HD’s are better) has plastic shelving units on seasonal sale (Lowe’s stocks them year round) - 36”x18”x +/-55” tall for $19.97 (Lowe’s regular price is about $35. This is the best after Christmas deal I’ve seen. I love these shelf units, esp. for my basement (won’t grow mold, can’t be damaged by water, etc.).

Those lights are at $4.98 down here—they have a bunch of them too, i’m hoping they will drop to 50% off that price to match your price up there in CT.

Are you sure your not seeing the price for the 2 packs. For some reason a 2 pack of multi color was $4.98 while the 2 pack of white ones were $4.97

Here are a couple 4 second videos that I took with my cell phone, First one is of 2 bulbs, 1 white and 1 red pointed at about a 45 degree angle towards the ceiling. The second video is of 2 multicolor bulbs, the one at the far end of the room is pointing straight up and the other is at about 45 degrees.

I think this year they sent all the xmas stuff back to distribution centers, was at one yesterday and evrything was gone, seems they arent playing the discount post holiday game this year.

Bought the husky spotlight today when I went to pick up some other stuff. Only $5 so I had to get it, now to see how I can mod it.

Opened it up and it has a led on a 20mm star, that makes things easy. Is that an XP-L in there ?!?

My guess is it’s an XM-L2. More profit margin for them to choose the XM-L2. I swore someone posted a close-up earlier, but I don’t see any.

-Garry

Its definitely a XP sized led. Bad tint, but at $5 can’t really complain. Not too experienced with the xp-g series, but this looks more like the XP-L to me. Knockoff maybe?

Maybe they will drop the price on the motion projection lights, but i went ahead and got a couple for testing anyway. If they drop price and i catch it, i’ll just pull the 90-day return trick. They only have the single units down here, no 2-paks in several stores that i checked. The HD online doesn’t even show the number of units at any store, so they will be clearing the shelves soon i’m sure.

One thing i have noticed is that the body of these lamps heats up quite a bit—much more than i was expecting. Likely from the internal motor rather than the LEDs, but it was somewhat startling to grab it, and then wanted to quickly drop it. They are like tiny disco balls, and they would be fun at dope smokin’ parties…

Sorry for the confusion. I messed up on the price.
I did get mine at $2.50 each at Home Depot but only because I found the 2 packs at $4.97. You are correct, the single packs are $4.98 in all the stores. What made it confusing to my feeble little mind is that I DID get them for $2.50 at LOWES. Over there they had a 75% off sale on the Christmas stuff that was already marked down 50. In other words, 87.5 off. The lights that were originally 19.98 at both HD and Lowes, were $2.50 at Lowes.

To make things even more confusing for me is that I had bought these same type lights at a Halloween closeout a couple of months ago and already had some single packs from that. Those lights had Halloween colors like orange and purple. That picture I posted of single packs were a combination of Halloween lights and LOWES lights. The arrows point to LOWES SKU numbers. The others are HD

I was out yesterday and there are still stock available at HD. 2 packs are $4.97 and single packs are $4.98 :confounded:
