Tell Us When Your GT Arrives (or is on the way)! [Formerly: BLF GT DHL Delivery Logistics Discussion]

Yes ARsee, batteries came with my order.

That is odd then.

Mine looks like AmericaEDC's https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/49021/232

Thank you slimkango

That is odd ARsee. Mine looks like that also…. there is just another section that tell country of orgin, my name & addressn, the package info. All left to right.

Beats me???

I got mine today even though it said the 8th

You'll have to excuse the apparent "blindness" in my earlier response. It was a long week, and late.

slimkango commented his included batteries. Comparing my waybill and quantity, I think both my lights (at least one w/batteries. 2nd battery order was after light order) with batteries will be here Tuesday.

Time for an unscheduled road trip!!

Got my GT & 8 batteries last evening delivered to Central California, USA.

Took it out for a quick spin - what an amazing light.

I never received any notifications via email or text from DHL - made it a nice surprise.

Got my GT and 8 batteries on 1-6-18. DHL handed it off to the USPS and it was sitting on my door step when I arrived home that evening.
Never received any tracking info, not complaining just saying.
Thanks goes out to the BLF GT team, you guys did a great job!
Now if those dang batteries would hurry up and charge, looks like I may need to upgrade my charging equipment.

Just in from DHL. My 2nd GT w/batts arrives Monday. :THUMBS-UP:

Good deal…… looks like I was wrong about them both coming at once. :person_facepalming:
Oh well…
Glad your getting them.
….
On another note. Are you going to take your bezel off to do your ‘LED burn in’ OR just split the head, exposing the LED

I am gonna do it the second way mentioned.

I was eyeballing the area in front of the switch. I noticed a little o-ring grease and thought about taking it apart there. Honestly, I think taking it apart there is a better approach, and leave the reflector alone.

While I was at it, the carry strap attach point on this one is sitting at about 11:10 . So while I had it apart I could maybe align it a bit better. The connections don't need to be so dang tight anyway.

Time for me to get outta here. I been awake for 22.5 hours!!

I didn’t receive any text, email, or phone call. GT was here when I came home yesterday. (DHL w/ cells)

Everything looks perfect except for a hard to turn rear lanyard ring, perhaps need to re-seat and lube the o-ring.

It’s too darn cold to go outside, but it sure looks impressive indoors.

Yeah… I’m thinking that will be the better option. That way the reflector, lens, & bezel can remain intact as a unit.

If you figure out how to change the alignment of the front strap attachment point, do let me know. I do not see anyway at all to do it.
Mine is at 6:30……. :person_facepalming: …

I wonder if you can add an o-ring of some kind as a rotation spacer? Like adding material back to the tube and have the light still work as it should?

In your case it may be more effort than you want to mess with?

Hmmm…. you could probably do that but i think it will change the focus… So that is no good.

Yeah…… mine is a lost cause.

I get ya. I think. I'll give it a go and you tell me if I'm on the right track. LOL!

If a ring spacer is used for alignment of the strap connection point, that spans the MCPCB/LED that distance away from the reflector.

So then maybe a slug of copper the thickness of the spacer ring, could be put under the MCPCB to regain the focus parameters. Yeah?

Yep… I think that would work just fine……
Good thinking…… :+1:

I like the idea of the approach you intend to take. The reflector and lens will be more protected from dust, etc. I just tried to unscrew the top part of the head off, but couldn't get it to budge. I used a strap wrench for the big section and my hand for the finned section. I'm going to put some oil on the joint and give it some time to work it's way to the oring. Hopefully that and another strap wrench on the finned section will break it loose.

Its definitely on there real tight, couldn’t unscrew it either. Had to put it in the vise and used 2 hands. Probably the oring that’s a little on the big side.

Yeah I think this way is best.
If you have a vice you can remove the battery tube & put the flats where the switch & tripod mount in the vice (pad jaws) and unscrew the top portion by hand.
Works well…. just be sure to pad jaws.
This is what thijsco19 was referring to also. … :+1:

It is shipped, when it is shipped

Every time I read that you have received the Giggles without them sending you the tracking info I worry more and more

I hope to receive the tracking code before the Giggles arrives in my country with enough time to make the correct customs declaration, otherwise I will have many problems

I see big bureaucratic problems on the horizon $$$$$$$, it’s really worrying
