[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

Nope…… Codyhawk is on task & up to date… :+1:

Please write me on the list for 1 BLF-GT.

Group buy is over

Too late my friend…… :frowning:
.

It's amazing how many do not read the thread title.

Their you go again accusing me, I’m guessing you want a rouse out of me. But no, I’m not going to be the reason this thread gets locked. The only thing I have to say to many and those following, the only regret I made when purchasing my BLF GT was not donating enough to the BLF GT team fund. I have the upmost respect to them because this light is amazing.

Do we think Lumintop may eventually sell the MCPCB’s as a spare part? or maybe Neal could supply them to BLF members?

I would most likely want to change mine to around 5000k, Not that I hate the current tint I honestly prefer it to the blue 6500k color. But with my experience level, the last thing I would want to do would be ruin something and put my GT out of action. A second MCPCB I could attempt to reflow would be good, just in case.

cheers

That is not a problem at all for any who forgot to donate & now wish to.

According to M4DM4X you can use the same link where you ordered the GT & just put as many $1 donations as you like in a cart. Then check out & you have donated.

!

Just in case some newbies get misled/confused into believing GT led is warm white since the warm word used quite a lot. 4000k is not warm white, some called it warm neutral. Well, we can’t stop people from creating terms they seem fit. I like to follow simpler term.
If things were perfect and GT team managed to put 4500k led in there as stock light, it will not be the white those who modded GT are after. They will put higher than 4500k in GT because 4500k is very closed to 4000k. It is subjective preference thing. Those who are very critical about this should ask and confirm before placing order.

Thanks I didn’t know this, just donated again.

Just a comment on those images/movies about the varying tints, not one of them mentioned what the cameras white balance was set to.
If I took an image of a 3000k light beam with my camera set to 3000kelvin it would show as white, the same for a cool white at 7500k if the white balance was set to 7500kelvin.
The point is that without the knowledge of the cameras settings you can’t even judge the throw

Cheers David

i mean for the next group buy.

Well said JasonWW. This needed to be pointed out.

As far as i know there wont be a next.

There is a deal for 1500 GT’s with lumintop and after those they are going to sell them for their own prince.

Sure thing… my pleasure.
I just remember someone asked a while back & this was mentioned by M4DM4X.
So I thought I’d throw it out there when you mentioned what you did.
Glad it helped……

I resized the pics……

As far as I know there are no plans at this point for a handle from anyone.
It would surely be a nice accessory however.

If you dont want your light due to the tint I’ll help you out. I’ll take it off you at cost and then pay shipping.
You clearly dont want the light, it’s clearly a big issue as you want to return it. Returning it to Lumintop will probably cost you £20. Me doing this will save you the return postage.

Not exactly… I’ll have a prototype handle worked up sometime this week. Then we’ll need to drum up some interest as I’ll need to make AT LEAST 50 for the cost to be reasonable.

I’m a CW (6000k or +) fan myself and I purchased the GT fully knowing it will come with a 4000k emitter. I figured if I didn’t like it, I can learn to swap it out or send it to someone who can (for a fee of course).

To be honest, I am happy with what I see on the stock GT. Its freaking awesome! To everyone who is waiting for their GT and is suddenly shocked to know it ships with a 4000k orange/yellow/urine/warm/neutral color LED, I say don’t judge it before you try it.

As teacher said, to me VoB’s video (and nodoubts screenshots of said vids) shows a chilly shade of CW for his prototype GT and a sinister shade of NW for the production GT. More specifically, this is what I see with my eyes on my S7 with a cracked screen. This may not be what anyone else sees with their eyes and their equipment and this video may very well not even be the most accurate color representation of what VoB actually recorded due to a number of different factors including the possibility that he wasn’t expecting his video to be the topic of color comparisons.

Seriously, we are already winners for getting this light at such a good price. Get it, try it, and then see if it is or isn’t for you.

BTW, VoB I’m not taking a shot at you nor your video(s). You and mhanlen crank out some really interesting content!
