Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Maybe they will drop the price on the motion projection lights, but i went ahead and got a couple for testing anyway. If they drop price and i catch it, i’ll just pull the 90-day return trick. They only have the single units down here, no 2-paks in several stores that i checked. The HD online doesn’t even show the number of units at any store, so they will be clearing the shelves soon i’m sure.

One thing i have noticed is that the body of these lamps heats up quite a bit—much more than i was expecting. Likely from the internal motor rather than the LEDs, but it was somewhat startling to grab it, and then wanted to quickly drop it. They are like tiny disco balls, and they would be fun at dope smokin’ parties…

Sorry for the confusion. I messed up on the price.
I did get mine at $2.50 each at Home Depot but only because I found the 2 packs at $4.97. You are correct, the single packs are $4.98 in all the stores. What made it confusing to my feeble little mind is that I DID get them for $2.50 at LOWES. Over there they had a 75% off sale on the Christmas stuff that was already marked down 50. In other words, 87.5 off. The lights that were originally 19.98 at both HD and Lowes, were $2.50 at Lowes.

To make things even more confusing for me is that I had bought these same type lights at a Halloween closeout a couple of months ago and already had some single packs from that. Those lights had Halloween colors like orange and purple. That picture I posted of single packs were a combination of Halloween lights and LOWES lights. The arrows point to LOWES SKU numbers. The others are HD

I was out yesterday and there are still stock available at HD. 2 packs are $4.97 and single packs are $4.98 :confounded:

In Connecticut, it was –7F yesterday. What a perfect time to check garden for clearance deals

As I pushed open the door to the garden area outside, I could feel the chill even before the doors swung open! I thought who but a NUT would be out here under these conditions.

But I was rewarded, hows $5 per 42lb, 14,000 foott bag of SCOTTS fertilizer? I found stock at both the stores I went to. I also found a few Evergreen fertilizer spikes, also marked down more that 90%

Thanks for clearing up the pricing and the SKUs— i had noticed the different numbering but didn’t realize it was HD vs Lowes.

^
Home Depot doesn’t usually discount more than 75. After that they are marked at a penny and thrown out. So probably no further discounts on the lights. The fertilizer was marked down past 75 probably because, for environmental reasons, it can’t just be thrown in the dumpster.
I others words instead of throwing it away out the back door, “throw it away” out the front door.

i went by HD today and they had cleared the shelf of the projection lights—they were piled up in a cart with other xmas stuff. i was hoping this might be the penny cart and took one to get a price check, but they were still $4.98

My local Home Depot just moved their remaining Christmas stock out to the Garden area.
Stuff is still 75% off. So it could be they are just moving yours too. There is still hope.

I am watching the 12 packs of “Precept” golf balls They were $19.98 and have been $4.98.
I have already made up my mind that if I could get them at $2.50 per dozen I would buy them all. At that price the cost per ball approaches the price per ball when I go to the driving range and rent a bucket.

My HD has pulled the projection lights from the shelves—looks like it’s over.

But Lowes dropped their price to 85% off, and they were flying out the door. One other redneck decided he was gonna buy them all to re-sell, so i hurried to get an assortment to play with for $3 each before he cleaned them out.

They had Disney branded lights also, with a bigger globe and better mounting bracket, those were $3.75 each—i got the generic swirling colors instead of mickey and elves, etc.

Glad you got some!

Cry with me though, today my HD pulled the golf balls!

i feel your pain.

Anymore if i find something that i really want to take apart, and it is marked at the 50 or 75% off, then i just go ahead and get one—because the odds of catching additional markoffs or the 1¢ price are really low, and the items may be pulled and gone.

On to the next deal pursuit…

i saw the golf balls this am, still 498 here

If anyone is looking for the nite-ize LED/reflector/tail switch upgrade for the old incandescent AA mini maglite, they are currently $4.98 at Home Depot.

Does the $4.98 price mean they are going to start a downward price trend? They had about 10 of them on display.

3 days later I have an answer for you! When they first were put on the floor they were $19.88 $9.99. At $4.98 they were already discounted –75- 50

I walked into Home Depot this morning and right inside the door was the “Deal of the Day”

There was an employee standing next to the cart “pitching” them to people as they walked in. I asked what the price was an he told me they were $2 a box. A customer was looking at them and I asked him how many he was buying, he told me at 50 cents a sleeve of 3 it was a heck of a deal. I said yeah it is, but how many are YOU buying? He said none, and walked away.
Then I turned to employee and told him I would buy them all, and as they were already in a cart I would wheel them out as is.
As we were right inside the entrance, next to returns, he walked over to the register and rung me out. So I paid and went back out the entrance door with them with a big smile on my face.
$2 a dozen is cheaper per ball than driving ranges charge to hit their balls.
36 dozen golf balls in the back of my Subaru.

YES, I do

Here is the UPC code for the dozen pack of golf balls in case anybody wants to print it out to check the price at their HD

Here are some other deals I came across.
This, a 12,000 mAh power bank.

The biggest markdown I have EVER seen.

AND this:

Not all items that penny out go in the dumpster. These next photos come from a RESTORE store nearby. These light fixtures have been there for months. They are not selling even at this low price.

These 4 light chandeliers were originally $68 at Home Depot LOWES, then reduced to $34. This time when they didn’t sell they probably went back to the vendor, then donated to The RESTORE.
They can’t even sell them at $5 each
The reason? They only take proprietary CFL’s. Practically useless! Over the years I have seen countless examples of light fixtures, lamps etc dumped at ’Odd Lot” type stores for that very reason. THEY DO NOT SELL.

Ooops, after I typed this post up I realized the clearance sticker is a LOWES sticker, not a Home Depot sticker

I’m sure that was not the original price

I hope that Green Air Hose isn’t like this Orange Husky Hose I bought from HD around 10yrs ago—very hard to roll up and stiff—almost like having polybutylene tubing hooked to your tool—- Good for long runs to another hose

I think they meant 14.88 as the original price.

I know that orange hose you are talking about. Yes it is stiff.
Somewhere in this thread I found a 3 pack for $5

found it.

Yes indeed, I DO have a lot of balls. I even have more balls than I did yesterday.
Another Home Depot had them for 98 cents per dozen!
Here are the before and after pics.

AND…………………………………………….
Because I have a lot of balls, I went to the service desk and asked them to refund the difference on the balls I bought yesterday!
98 dozen golf balls.

Receipt on left is refunding my card the purchase of 36 dozen balls at 1.99 each. The receipt on the right is buying them back at 98 cents.

There is a very good chance this is happening at all HD’s right now. If you are lucky, and someone like me hasn’t cleaned the store out, you can score this deal.
Another store I went too also had these at 98 cents.

There is nothing for me to think about on this deal, each year I spend more than this at the driving range. I could just hit these away and actually save a lot of money.

Next year, EVERYONE in my family is getting golf balls for Christmas. Even if they don’t play golf. Heck even my 95 year old Mother-in Law is getting them

I was wrong though about the original price at Home Depot. They were only $9.99 per dozen. That is a great price as is. They do sell for $20 a dozen normally.
