[PART 1] Official BLF GT Group Buy thread. Group buy officially closed! Lights shipping.

As you saw, that was Jason, I don’t have near enough time to keep up with things like that now days. I am lucky to keep up with the details behind the scenes.

I am thinking you ae right, combined with the faster feedrate that it seems like they are using to speed production that would explain the reduced smoothness over time.

For now we just have to wait for the light to be manufactured :sunglasses:

Just to be clear, shipping took less than 36 hours, the way these lights are shipped is one of the fastest possible ways.

A package from Germany to Hong Kong would cost me ~300€ at these conditions :-P

Look at those times, crazy

Banggood Priority Mail is not anywhere near this :-P

Rather odd issue here. The switches are most likely soldered before they get to Lumintop and done automatically I would assume. So my first guess is a simple error in the production, very unlikely to be widespread.

That said, better safe then sorry, I will be sure to let Lumintop know.

If this was delivered by banggood you would have the same shipping options as you have now. Priority mail would cost extra and be slower then DHL. So you would be better off with DHL.

Now if you needed priority mail for customs reasons, it would cost a fair amount more then registered mail.

Remember this is not a 100g flashlight they are shipping, this is a ~2500g monster. Shipping is VERY different when things are that big.

My gt is stuck at customs 150km from me. Dhl is not sending info what i need for paying taxes(24% vat). Maybe tomorrow they send those, then monday could be delivery day

Yeah, customs can take time depending where you live. I have seen it take weeks before during the holidays.

I just got a reply from Lumintop about the reflector quality.

They assured me that they are trying to keep quality up while making them as fast as possible. They also wanted to be clear that they will never reduce quality to save costs.

I told them to not worry about the speed as much as the quality going forward.

The factory appears to have a real issue with making reflectors this large with consistent quality. These are the largest reflectors they have made by quite a bit. So they are still learning how best to make them.

That’s so true!
So Patience is a virtue

Just thought I’d add that mine isn’t here yet in the UK. I’d assume you’ll get a wave of people per country getting them at once.

It is amazing how quickly some of these items arrive once they’ve been shipped. I know how long it takes to catch a plane to some of these places and these parcels sure dont hang around!

So all reflectors they ship out are whitin their quality standards.

It sounds like it… unless one slips through by mistake. :+1:
Which as we all know can happen in anything.
Good job Lumintop……… :+1:

Well said giorgoskok… :+1:
In addition Banggood had nothing to do with this, so I doubt they would be interested in shipping the lights…. just my thoughts of course.

correction, the dhl packet for my brother wasn’t the GT. So no info about GT’s for us here in the Netherlands.

So far it appears that all the reflectors have been at or above the V1 prototype quality, which was the standard we gave them when we started this. So yes, from what I have seen they have all been within spec.

The ones better then spec, are well, better then spec and a bonus. They were never under any obligation to give us that quality.

Hope my GT and 35E were sent by registered mail. Never got any PM and email.

Tested throw with my luxmeter LX1330B.

Stock Thrunite TN42 CW at 4m gives me 700k lux. —-> so my luxmeter is definetly not underestimating!

8 fully charged 30Q

BLF GT at 4m 820k lux.

BLF GT at 9,5m 993k lux.

…far away from 1,3 million

Thought I remember seeing that minimum distance for measurement was 40 meters or at least something further than you used because beam convergence has not occurred at the shorter distance?

At least it must take 10 meters to measure CD, in a launcher of this size, it is likely, that it does not reach to collimate the light, also it has to do double click for turbo 2.5 amp.
