Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

More run time obviously! Lol

I’m sure the single xml on a tiny boost driver with a AAA battery can do at least what, 150 lumen?

+ at least 1…… …. :person_facepalming: . . .
.
.
.

  • 3500 lumens
  • 3 modes
  • Zoomie
  • 1 x AAA

Priceless………

“Super bright lamp beads” Yeah, brightest beads I’ve ever seen! Hahaha

ok, my q8’s indicator light (switch) doesn’t stay on anymore. I didn’t understand the manual posted. (have to be in a certain mode to fix the issue) (eye roll). anyone want to give me the “for dummies” solution? . I cant read 550 pages of q8. I just read 500 pages of GT, I can barely see now :stuck_out_tongue:

Does it come on under any circumstances?

Did you program it to not come on?

It my be broken. A lot of the early Q8’s had defective switches. It was something about the leds or resistors not being fully soldered.

See AlexGT’s post #16711 to see how he fixed his.

If you think the problem is in the programming, you can do a factory reset and put the light back to stock. Is that what you want to do?

The instructions to reset the factory settings are in post #2. Let me know if you need help with them.

This is just a guess Jason… but I bet if it just happened all at once, after previously working fine; it has been deactivated …. as you mentioned. And a factory reset, as you also mentioned; will solve it.

I have done this a few times myself by accident…… :person_facepalming: :person_facepalming:
Factory reset was my friend……

Below is a link to the simplest Factory Reset directions I have found.

Hope this solves it…….
Let us know.

Edit for spelling….

yeh, when you check the battery voltage by doing three clicks…sometimes sticky fingers or whatever can make strange things happen…little green light goes byebye

ask me how i know… :disappointed:

Jason. It does flash , but doesn’t stay on in a standby line it did originally.

Teacher. I think you’re on the right path for me. I saw those instructions, but they begin with “while displaying the firmware number “. I don’t know how to get to that display mode

Ok. So click followed by press & hold only ramps me up to max. Not landing in battery mode. Which is before firmware mode, which is before reset series.

Battery check is a triple click. Do that and it will blink out the battery voltage over and over.

Give it a few seconds at least, then do a dbl click. Now it will blink out the temperature “in Celsius”.

Give it a few seconds at least, then do a dbl click. Now it will blink out the firmware number “1”.

Now to reset it, you press and hold for 1.2 seconds and you should see it do 4 blinks.

So its: 3x, 2x, 2x, press and hold for 1.2 secs.

/\\\…… Tejasandre…… What Jason said. Perfect instructions. . :+1:

My Q8 still works great. My favorite SRK-type light in my collection. :sunglasses: I have not had the time to do any mods yet to it yet though, but plan on adding a blue “glow” light to the switch, & replacing the green with warm white leds for night light use with the current circuitry. Also to add a lanyard.

Thanks Jason & teacher. I’ll tryagain tonight.

My Q8 has been perfect. That being said, I’d like to purchase the plastic switch spanner just in case. Is that possible?

thanks this reset my q8 perfectly. Taking a screenshot for future reference;)

An interesting free spinning shoulder strap holder: https://www.enjoyyourcamera.com/Kameragurte/Kameragurt-Zubehoer/Custom-SLR-C-Loop-Kameragurt-Adapter-silber-fuer-DSLR-Kameras-kein-Werkzeug-noetig::9588.html

Glad that fixed you up Tejasandre……

Hello

Do you maybe know any holster that will fit Q8?
If such holster exist, can you please provide a link.

Thank you.

Just covered this topic post #16709 on the previous page:

The Q8 pouch that was mentioned the most comes from an ebay seller here
