Keep in mind that it will probably be late January/early February before we will send out the PM with the purchasing information. Light production is pretty slow at 150 to 200 per week so we are giving the factory some more time to catch up with the first 850 orders. 500 of those have been sent, so far.

Why cant they just fulfil the 1st and 2nd batch bfore shipping 3rd? February will be coming and chinese new year as we all know will halt production of all things in china for almsot 1month. This should have been US batch and OTHER batch.

If you were a moderator, how would you not have 15k posts?

I can think of a few times where people bicker that I would like to delete as it’s useless info. We would still have 14,800 posts, though.

Would it be fair to delete posts that are not directly related to the GT? I don’t think so. Then it starts feeling like we are being controlled.

The only moderator here is the forum owner sb56637. As far as I know he has only deleted one post which was a joke that was somewhat slanderous to the forum and it’s reputable members. That’s all I know of. It really is up to us to moderate ourselves.

Luckily this thread will get getting slower and slower as people get their lights. It will fade out like the Q8 thread did.

Controlled… sounds a bit… anarchist… It’d be half that amount… with a a few side threads in the off topic forum.
Self moderation = (apparently) a S* ton of irrelevant posts that make it harder to find nuggets of info. Which in turn leads to people posting and asking about stuff covered pages before.
Hey, most of you like it, but it doesn’t mean it makes this thread any easier to sift through…

I think what you are describing is exactly what is happening. First 555 paid, then #555 to #1049 paid. That is 850 actual orders. Neal and Lumintop are fulfilling these orders before the next group of #1050 to #17xx are to pay.

Maybe some people that got tracking info can post specifically where it came from.

My DHL Tracking info came straight from DHL by way of TEXT Message.

• 1st when picked up in HongKong by DHL
• 2nd when it arrived in USA
• 3rd the morning it was loaded on local DHL route truck for final delivery to me. This one asked if it was OK to leave package without signature. I responded YES…IF the driver would call or TEXT when it was delivered. He left it AND sent me a TEXT when it was left at my door.

My experence was perfect & went smoothly.

If the shipping information is being pulled from Paypal at purchase then I’d strongly recommend everyone to check their contact information before paying, namely mobile numbers but of course making sure everything else is correct too.

This is a very good point Umcookies & was stressed in the Payment PM that was sent to each of us.

I am wondering if lack of attention to this detail has anything to do with missing or absent tracking info for some. No way to know of course.

But it appears to me all Tracking Info is coming straight from DHL…. Which makes sense that it would.

• Neal is not sending it, he does NOT have time to; nor should he be expected to.
• LUMINTOP is not sending it…. they are not a retail outlet.

It appears, to me anyway; what Tracking Info that has been sent has been sent by TEXT from DHL.
NO emails or PM’s thus far …… only TEXT Message from DHL.

So if cell number is wrong or not avaiable one will probably receive no Tracking Info.

IF Tracking Info was NOT received by some AND cell number WAS avaiable to DHL…… I have no reason or speculation as to why it was not received.

So I bought an eight pack of 12 inch x 12 inch .060 Kydex sheets to make a lens cover for the GT. First tried making a cover without using a form and it came out real bad, loose fitting. Next I spent a couple of hours making a form, placed kydex in the oven to heat up and it shrunk to about half it’s original size. The light being round makes things extra difficult when using Kydex.

While i continue to wait for my GT, can anyone find out the effective beam angle? Measure the hotspot size at 10, 20 and/or as many meters away as reasonable

I was also thinking about this. And maybe line the inside with something to avoid scratches. But I have never worked with Kydex before so I really don’t know if it would work or not. Also kydex is pretty expensive here I would say. 18$ for a 12x12 sheet. 2,4mm thick, which is around 0.9 thickness.

As far as I know you dont need to make any customs declarations before it arrives to Uruguay. I have sent a crap load of packages to Uruguay when I was working for my last employer and none of those recipients needed AWB numbers before shipping. If you need that AWB just for the tax avoiding purposes, it’s a diffrent story and imho thats not something they need to do for you.

People need to calm down. I have seen more patient 5 year old children. Just like somebody said, Lumintop might have took a little too big bite here. I’m surprised that they haven’t already halted the production of the group buy GT’s, stole the design and started to sell them out 250USD a piece… Well, just joking but there are some really dishonest chinese companies out there, so big thumbs up to Lumintop
