Thanks yasenf! So it seems they have upgraded to remove programming for HI.
I’m wondering if they changed it because when it first came out some people were complaining of low maximum output, only to discover the default programming for HI wasn’t set to the maximum level.
In a side by side comparison it makes the 4C Convoy look white, and I always thought it was quite yellowish, but I think I’m starting to like warmer tints sometimes.
Mine is also ~4000K, which I generally don’t like that much, but somehow it fits this light. I saw nice reds and generally vivid colors with it - I like how it turns out so much, that it will be a keeper.
As soon as my UT01 arrives I will measure it. Of course I ordered NW. I feel something that will be similar to the UT02 that I got a few days ago. From the measurements, 4350K came out instead of 5000K. The measurements are done with the eyeone Pro calibrator, so it is a fairly accurate measurement. I also get a spectrum of timbre.
I feel the same, it has nice color rendering. Sometimes I like a warmer tint using around the house inside late night when I’m sleepy, also in a movie theater etc., anytime colder white could be somewhat “offensive” to the eyes.
Also I only ran mine on an Alkaline primary, I’m wondering if I’ll see slightly different or cooler tint with higher output when running it on 14500.
Thanks for doing this. I’m really liking this little light, would be interesting and useful to know the actual CCT.
Please also let us know if it has only 3 programmable modes instead of 4, as I described in previous posts, (HI mode factory set - not programmable) and what your date of ordering was.
beam0. Your light is almost certainly programmable in all four modes. The problem you are likely having is that an AA alkaline can’t deliver enough power for the turbo mode, so they all look the same. I’ve seen the same thing with an Eneloop once it discharges a bit.
