Discussion : - Utorch UT01

Thanks for doing this. I’m really liking this little light, would be interesting and useful to know the actual CCT.

Please also let us know if it has only 3 programmable modes instead of 4, as I described in previous posts, (HI mode factory set - not programmable) and what your date of ordering was.

Ordered on December 11, so probably in two weeks will come.

Wishful thinking.
More like after Feb 11.

Depends what shipping method he used, not sure about Poland but I ordered mine onDecember 19th and received it on Jan 2nd, so 14 days to China to PA.

I use Priority Line if the item is $10 or more or if its more important to me. Usually $1.30 to $1.99 extra.

Also this member got his to CA in 15 days: Discussion : - Utorch UT01 - #71 by saypat

Discussion of the programming issue continued here: Review : Utorch UT01 Flashlight (XP-L V6 / AA & 14500 / e-switch) - #348 by beam0

beam0. Your light is almost certainly programmable in all four modes. The problem you are likely having is that an AA alkaline can’t deliver enough power for the turbo mode, so they all look the same. I’ve seen the same thing with an Eneloop once it discharges a bit.

I use cheap shipping for items under $ 30 and I’m waiting patiently

Ain’t that the truth! What wise words!

Is everybody required to spend $1.30 to $1.99 extra?

The tracking only state “US Customs”. And it takes two months from the “US Customs”.

Programming issue resolved!

As brought to my attention by several people in the review thread the problem was the battery, the HI mode will not program with an alkaline cell, even a new one with 1.6v, it will go to HI but remains steady and doesn’t ramp.

With the 14500 I’m now able to program all 4 modes.

Today I received my UT01. Color NW.
First conclusions:
The color is much warmer. 3789K came out of my measurements. I would prefer closer to the declared value.
I am waiting for a battery of 14500, so the first tests with eneloop AA.
The amount of light from 1m is 2209 lux. Pretty good.
The switch is very unstable. Works, does not work, works again in a moment. Evidently the fault of the switch because I measured the circuits.

Cześć!

Is this using stock/factory programming? Or did you reprogram the light to the highest possible setting when measuring this?

Pozdrawiam!

In fact, I forgot to mention it. of course, I reprogrammed and scalped the diode. :person_facepalming:

Scalped?

This is not my work, but it looks like that:

And such a curiosity, programming 4 modes (including turbo) on AA batteries works

YES!!

How bad is the parasitic drain on this light? I have it on order as a gift to my parents as a backup light and they will leave battery in the light for sure.

@SKV89, according to this review from giorgosko it is “Stand-by current (parasitic drain) : 0,014mA”
You can read it here: Review : Utorch UT01 Flashlight (XP-L V6 / AA & 14500 / e-switch)

Ordered one of these 9 days ago at GB and our postal services mailed me that I will get it today. But the 14500 batteries are not here yet so can’t test it fully :frowning:
Actually ordered 2, the second one was ordered couple days later.

O_o

What does the beam look like?

Wow 0.014ma parasitic drain is really low. I’m impressed given such a cheap light. That means its safe to keep the battery in there.

Not much is changing, the camo center shines a little harder.
