Review : KDLITKER C8.2 , 1*18650 xhp50.2 flashlight

Any chance this could take an unprotected 21700 cell?

Not without some changing of the battery tube. The battery is pretty fit for an 18650.

Isn’t K5 that thing? (same dimensions/specs with 26650 tube)

XHP35 HI in the KD C8.2 is a thing now. Does anyone have one?

I just got my NW version yesterday. Damn it gets hot in the first minute. Way more hot than the 50.2 version.
I like the fat hotspot of the 50.2 version better than the 35 HI

Lol, just ordered one! Couldn’t help myself. Will get back on comparison.

Which driver is installed? What currents? Can I have a photo ?

Interesting that it runs hotter. My C8.2 with the XHP50.2 doesn’t get hot at all. I’d say it just gets warm it’s really surprising.

I’ve used mine on high for extended periods of time and the LED has yet to burn up. I’ve tested it over 2000 lumens as well and pulling around 8amps so I know it’s running well. I’ve messed with the reflector as well so I’m unsure. I have a few really hot running lights though like the D4 and my modded E2L or MF01.

On my KDLITKER C8.2 there is a diver different from H1-A

Battery used in all measurements : Sanyo NCR18650GA 3500mAh

Amperage draw (Measured on the tail , with Fluke 77 III clamp meter) :

Very Low : 0.02 A
Low : 0.38 A
Med : 1.48 A
Hi : 6.46 A

!!

Interesting !

First 3 modes are about the same but the Highest mode draws more amps (and probably delivers more amps at the led) .

Forgot to say, when you turn on the low mode there is no bright flash!

Of topic i know, but do you see many factory colours for C8`s, i like the finish on the C8.2 but she dont roast up to well, more of a matt finish on the head and bezel than the shiny tube and tailcap.

too much variation, what i would like to see is the Convoy c8 in Sand colour.

does anyone know if you can buy the tail cap seperatly? interestingly enough the Emisar D4 tailcap almost made for a good twisty, just a smidge too long.

Ask KD , i think they will find some spare .

Just got my Xhp35 version and it is rather nice. My third throwiest light, behind the Blf GT (obviously) and just slight behind the haikelite mt07s (much fewer lumens). Smashes my regular xpl-hi based convoy c8s, and even the new astrolux C8 with the A6 driver.

Without measuring, by eye comparison only (eg vs nightcore p30), I’m guessing 140k lux, and maybe just under 2000 lumens. Flicker on mode selection more exaggerated than the xhp50.2 version, and gets warmer though. Another compulsory addition to the budget light collection, and I think I’m cured of xpl based throwers. I’d consider the xhp35 hd version for a few extra lumens and smoother corona.

That’s strange, since my warm white XHP35 HI C8.2 was only 1240 lumens and 51kcd. Wonder if they changed the driver recently.

Tested my C8.2 with XHP50.2 and at 3min 30sec the hottest part of the head is only 105F/40.5C. I can’t test the amp draw accurately I don’t have a clamp meter, but the measured lumen output is in line with the rated specs in relation to my other lights so I know it isn’t under performing and just not getting hot. The other day I used it on high for an extended period of time while sledding, but it was probably cold enough outside to keep the light cool-to-the-touch.

I couldn’t resist ordering one. I ordered one yesterday.

That’s just too much light for the size to pass up.
