Haikelite MT09R Test/Review Beam video footage.

So, just to be clear - the run time and throw on the MT09r at approx. 15k lumens will be LESS (due to the emitters efficiency at that level of drive) than the DT70 at 14K lumens?
As in, on turbo, the MT09r with three 70.2 emitters will probably step down quicker than the DT70? And will maintain brightness at a medium lumen setting less time than the four emitter HXP 70’s?
Again, sorry for the painful clarity and redundant questions - I’m in the market for a BRIGHT soda can light, funds are scarce, and I have a morbid fear of buyers remorse, lol.

When you factor in discount codes and the fact that you get batteries included, the price is almost the same, I believe.

Is the switch lit?

Yep...

The problem I've found with the Imalent multi emitter lights is finding one that works... I've been sent 4 samples all of which failed in just a few minutes.

I've seen them discounted all the way dowb to dealer cost. The only reason a retailer would every discount that much... Well that seems kind of obvious.

One other thing... Those are numbers claimed by Imalent. I am not aware of anyone that has verified the candela on either of the multi emitter models.

I honestly really would like to know if anyone has verified the candela raiting....

The 70.2 version of the MT09R is designed to be pretty good at both. Kind of middle of the road. So far it does that better than any light it this price range I've seen.

When the thrower arrives I will fully verify it's Candela rating and I have a pretty good idea what it will retail for so I will totally stand by my statement twice the light at half the price. I would by 10 MT09R's at full retail before I would buy any of the multi emitter Imalents even at dealer cost.

The painful part is... It will step down at 55 degrees C. When it does you can kick it right back into turbo and keep doing it until either you can't hold it any longer or the cells die...

I'm not an Imalent hater some of their best reviews were done by me with their single emitter models. The multi emitter models are just not worth the price.

No, I’m not saying that at all. Run times vary depending on the battery. The DT70 running at 14k lumen would actually be higher if the domes were not sliced. Step downs can be programmed to activate at various temperatures.

So bottom line is they are very similar to each other.

I personally would not by buy Imalent because it is like Russian roulette. Some folks get perfectly working lights and some get ones that break quickly. A high percentage break quickly.

If you fear buyers remorse, then don’t buy brand new designs. Wait until they are in many people’s hands and you get lots of feedback.

I tend to only buy lights that I can swap the drivers out if they should fail. Lexel makes some great TA drivers. If this Haikelite driver fails, you can easily replace it.

Have you seen the Astrolux MF 01? It is a cheaper 18 emitter light with tir lenses. If the driver fails you can replace it with a TA driver as well.

Personally I prefer reflector based lights as you get a good balance of throw and spill.

Have you considered getting a blf q8? They can do 7,000 lumen with spring bypasses for about $45. It is cost effective.

Yes..

I had to double check to be sure that I was right about the cost on the Imalents... Retail price for the MT09R is a little less than dealer cost on the Iamlents, and it's half the full retail price of them...

It's just a better deal and a much safer bet

Does your sample have the cool white emitters?

I honestly didn't ask but to me it looks to be cool white///

You can tell from the video. The Q8 has NW and the sample has CW.

Hey terry, do you know which type of shipping Haikelite will be using?? To United States…

I don’t intend to mod my q8 which i have no skills or equipment. It is good as what it is now. I think q8 is the best value light… I use it daily around the house… the light doesn’t step down if I keep it at med mode…

Many cheap lights failed because of the low quality driver. Q8 came in clean every aspect.

It would be great to see some still shots with fixed camera settings somewhere with better stuff to see than the lake. (or less fog to reflect the CW)
In the video I think its because of the fog and the cool white and the self adjusting camera, but to me the Q8 looked more impressive in the video. Obviously that is not true its just hard to see in the video.

By the reviews DT70 gets around 91 to 97kcd. Similar throw to MT09R

As of right now no.. I do know that it has been and is still being discussed. When I am given a definite answer I will post that right away.

Thanks, I never actually got to compete a review on the multi emitter Imalents. I have hoped that someone had taken real measurement. I felt pretty sure just from the information provided from reports of what lumen output turned out to really be that the advertised candela had to be lower as well.

So that supports the value of the MT09R...

Once you have one and you kick it up into turbo for the first time you will know that is one of the best if not the best purchase you made in a light

You get a premium quality and performance light at a price much better than lights that do not perform nearly as well..

.

That will happen tomorrow night. I have already contacted the local Police dept. and Sheriffs office so that I do not get arrested lol... Also I have a new camera arriving tomorrow that will shoot much better quality video.

The camera I am using is decent HD for some things but I need more control...lol basically a camera I really did not want to spend the money on but I hope it pays off.

It should be here by USPS tomorrow that will give me time to get it set up and ready for this kind of video as well as stills.

Thanks, folks for the (more or less, lol) concrete information! So it looks like, all other things being equal such as batteries, conditions, etc. these are similar lights in output.
Looks like Haikelite has the nod in reliability and user interface, I really like the smaller form factor of the dt70.
I have looked in depth at other lights like the MF01, the Acebeam x80, Acebeam x45, even the Imalent DX80.
I guess I am kinda intrigued by the “tiny light, HUGE OUTPUT” aspect. I own an Emisar D4, and love shocking folks with it in its 18350 form factor (about 4k lumens out of a 2 inch light

It seems like new contenders pop up every month…right after I’ve decided on a purchase, lol.
