I filled dispute with Paypal and later noticed that they have mailed me, after 4 messages to them!
So, long story short, hoursbuying DONT have actual stock availability information on their webpage, just because product is listed doesnt mean its available.
They shipped two knives worth 17$ and other two, also worth 17$ were out of stock, they offered me credit 17.1$ in coupon code :D
I played smart and asked for 25$ given lack of communication from them, they agreed on sending me 2 coupon codes 25$ total.
Now, heres the deal, how should I handle this situation? I told them that Im canceling my Paypal claim for now but will renew it if I dont receive my items in 45 days window(ordered from them 19.01.12 and got shipping notification on 31.01.2012, however my package is still stuck in China post!) from the day I paid I will renew the dispute with Paypal.
What bothers me is that if they give me 25$ coupons, I immediately spend them BUT they dont ship anything and fake the order then will I be able to get those original 17$ back through Paypal in case I dont my new-coupon paid order in timely manner, I understand I should open dispute/claim within original 45 days window, right?
I tried to purchase from them and of course PayPal came up and said no-go!! I tried my Visa/debit card and nothing happened till I went to the grocery store and found that my card had been locked due to trying to do a transaction with a country (China) that is on the banks "Do Not Do Business With" list. Good thing the wife was with me or I would have gone home without my groceries. It would appear this company has issues behind the iron curtain.
vēer, if you cancel your PayPal claim I don't think you can renew it. My advice: try to get your money back through PayPal, and just forget about the $25 coupons. Also, you cannot open a PayPal dispute for products paid for by coupons. Remember, this company can no longer accept payments through PayPal for a reason (they are crooks).
Thanks R C, looks like Ill have to change my mind regarding cancelling dispute, Ill have to keep the dispute open untill the 45 day window closes, hmm, pitty they dont accept PP anymore.
It is indeed a pity. Just a couple days ago, I really wanted to get a SanRenMu GB-763 from HoursBuying. But I don't trust them enough to give them my credit card info. Right now that knife might as well be made of unobtainium.
Hehe, Im all for DD as well, if they drop the prices on flashlights there, not much to choose from knives there, thats why I was so glad to order from HoursBuying, but their customer service proved to be worst Ive dealt with. Shame that I cant have my cake and eat it too, need to choose between cake=coupons or getting hunger away=getting money back.

You are correct.. they change names as they loose Paypal credibility due to too many complaints. DB is now hoursbuying.com and every now and then they are hotdealings.com. I wonder which name will be next.... discoveryhotbuying.com maybe?
Yeah, only knife I could find is SRM T01A and thats the one they didnt ship to me due to being out of stock, no search results with Navy or Enlan names :D
I signed up and tried to buy some knives but absolutely everything about that site is screwy. The coupon they sent me didn’t work, the search didn’t work, parts of the site would diassapear. I couldn’t imagine a more flaky buying experience. There is no way I was giving them my CC info.
I just find the website was 301 to discoverybuying.com. they have so many domains and change frequently. I am very curious how do you know their website? do they advertise somewhere?
They are absolute sh*t and I would never ever buy from them again!
My case ended with PayPal sending me back my money for 3 out of 4 knives because only two were shipped and one of the shipped ones was wrong item+I was so dissatisfied with their service that it seemed logical to press on them to give me money back without returning any of the items.
Needless to say that the knife I didnt want has been abused, while the one I wanted, SRM 763 with patterned G10 handle has been real joy to carry :)!
