What did you mod today?

Thanks Flashy Mike for the explanation. That’s a very capable driver. Does it have a voltage divider for battery voltage sensing?

I like the little Sofirn SF10B, very neat miniature of the larger SP32A… I had put an XP-L2 in mine then went back and sliced it, diced the phosphor off the sides, even more enjoyable now.

Got my Sofirn C8F side switch hosts in today, built one up with XP-L2 V6 5000K emitters and an 17mm MTNFET driver built from scratch with a VishayDale SIR404DP. Used 22 ga wires to the MCPCB but 20ga spring bypasses. It pulls over 12A at the tail and makes 4116 lumens, pretty sweet!

Leatherman Tread Flashlight Bit

.

That is ridiculously cool!!

Nice work.

So, how do you light it on ?

If you see the small check out of the back corner of the unit, well there is a corresponding piece of copper press fitted into the leatherman segment so you push the LED unit back into the body until it makes contact and push it from the back to turn it off, like a slide switch. It’s held in by friction. Doesn’t look too bright in the pictures as I need new cells.

CRX - this is getting out of hand….

8) 8) :sunglasses:
I do not respond to all of your mods (soo many), but I do think they are all outstanding. But this one is extra cool because it fits so well in what a multitool must be.

Awesome build, CRX!
What do you think of adding elements with color LEDs?

Thanks mate

Thanks. Yeah I’ve been thinking about how to do an unobtrusive light on the tread for a while, the problem was always the cells.
These two SR364’s are in series, which was the hardest part, check out my first attempt with an XP-G2

Can be cool, your D4 colour mods are great :+1:
I think the last colour mod I did was the dual DQG Hobi amber

Pls crx go away. Your mods are way too awesome!

Seriously, very impressive! What you can come up with and make.

Same here.
Great job CRX.

They say great minds think alike. :stuck_out_tongue:

The mcu can measure voltage internally. Voltage divider would be required for multicell serial setups though, which is not the target for this driver. It’s mainly designed for multicolor lights.

:open_mouth: Unbelievable, this is way too crazy cool as with all your mods …

 :+1:

I didn’t even know such a thing existed, and here you are modifying it! Sweeeeeet!

MRsDNF, if great minds think alike that leaves you… where, exactly? :stuck_out_tongue: (you know good and well you left that wide open!)

A guy here struggling to make a simple triple and you make this CRX?!!! Ain’t fair
Nice mod, that’s really cool!!! :sunglasses:

Ain’t it the truth MacaratumB? He’s putting out Picasso’s while some of us are playing with crayon’s.

And on that crayon note, I stuck an Zener modified FET driver in the little solid copper X5, put a sliced and diced XHP-50.2 on an XM-L board with 20ga leads, stripped the resistor off the lighted tail cap (Zener modded FET’s don’t like those) and will be using the little copper light with a pair of 14250’s. Charging 2 of those up to see how much light they give, it looks neat in there anyway even if the little cells aren’t up to it.
