On a normal lamp with contact issues you normaly sand the ends, lube them and you you are fine.
What about this lamp? Sanding one end seems bad.
I guess conductive lube on the ends is also a bad idea. Any lube recommendations?
Or how much fidelity is necessary to troubleshoot and assamble it?
Is it a finicky light?
Major brand lights (Fenix, Acebeam, Klarus) have been using nested tubes like this for a while to enable an e-switch in the tail (usually ill-used for instant strobe) and/or USB charging without turning on the tailswitch. Mine have been trouble-free.
Wow mixing the Nichia 219c tints would be so awesome! I would love to see that in action and would be nice if we have the option to add money for custom features similar to how the Emisar D4s are sold.
I don’t expect tint-mixing to happen. It’s not really in the Overton window yet, and it would mean tripling Lumintop’s investment. Instead of a single reel of 3000 emitters (1000 lights), it would mean committing to three reels of 3000 each, or 3000 total lights.
Even if Lumintop wanted to make three times as many units, they’d probably just offer it in three different flavors.
You could create a ‘Team account’, as was done in the BLT GT thread; and ask sb to change the original post ownership from the miller to the ‘Team account’. That way the OP (original post) could be updated with the needed information.
