ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

Aliexpress, DHGate

Usually their search engine is kinda crap.
If you know the name of the clone you’re looking for, you might have a better chance to find them, like for example Troodon

They also tend to often put random names so it makes it harder for the original manufacturers to find them, so random searches usually lead to goof finds.
Here’s a cheap one that I found by entering another model “Scarab”

You can see my video of both of these knives here

I'll be "praying" for you, Canada. Knives are actually my primary hobby and side-job, so this news about my poor Canadian brothers being misgoverned really upset me. We have a number of talented knifemakers and hobbyists whose small corner of the world contributes nothing to crime statistics and little financial impact; why any large gov't body has the time to fiddle with this amongst war and politics is beyond me.

In the meantime, my hope is that this import restriction will light the needed fire under some Canadian butts to start making knives!!! Whether CNC or manual, there is still plenty of room left in this industry, especially in Canada. Pay the good Canadian men and women who make them, and nevermind importation laws.

-Jake

Thanks for your support Jake.

Thankfully, this will not affect the knife industry in general, whether it be Canadian custom knife makers like Grimsmo or Production manufacturers like Spyderco or Benchmade as the knives ARE legal and can be purchased at any Canadian retail store without issues.
Who this will affect is the average Joe that wants to import the knife from outside Canada in order to save a buck and that will be stopped by these bureaucrats under some ridiculous interpretations of the actual law.

Thank you bdpf79 I will check these out . I really enjoyed your video also .

I’ve done the ticket thing before and they couldn’t understand what I was asking. They kept asking for a link to the product page on Gearbest.

There must be someone who is in charge of making purchasing/stock decisions and this person would presumably have a direct contact to Sanrenmu factory or distributor. But I think there is too many layers and language barriers to forward a stock suggestion to this person(s).

I am located in CONUS. How is everyone paying for your orders on dhgate and aliexpress. I want to use PayPal, but its not an option. I have only had one order go through using privacy.com with a burner card. I have 8 orders that I can’t complete until I find a safer option to pay.

Yeah, AE and DHG don’t take PP.
I think at one point they were taking Escrow and AliPay (similar to PP) but not sure if they still do it.

I have placed many orders on both these websites using CC and never had an issue. These are well-known and strong suppliers, especially AE.
If you’re still not comfortable, you could still use services like Entropay to create a virtual Visa card and use that. Pretty sure the service is free.

I would say even if a seller takes PayPal, just use another payment method. I tried to buy a T12 soldering station kit and used PayPal and the order was cancelled by Aliexpress for some reason having to do with the new member coupon. The seller didn’t seem to understand the situation and I had to open a PayPal dispute since the money went directly to the seller and they have not issued a refund.

Agree, if you go outside of their methods of payment, AE or DHG will do nothing (nor will Ebay), but otherwise, they have very good buyer’s protection (very similar to Ebay).

Hi people. I’ve been visiting this forum for some time. It has been very helpful with budget EDC flashlights. Now I’m in search for some budget EDC knife/knives. What do you think about these 3 knives: Sanrenmu c97, Sanrenmu 7010 and Sanrenmu LAND 910 Plus? I love 7010, but I’m lefty, I guess it will feel a bit awkward holding it in left hand because pocket clip can’t be mounted on the opposite side, that’s why I stumbled across LAND 910 Plus which has option for moving pocket clip on the opposite side, but i see that 910 Plus is using different type of blade steel (12C27) than the 7010 and c97…Should I buy 910 Plus, is it good knife? Will 7010 be awkward to hold in left hand? This is my first time I’m interested in EDC knives, so I don’t know much about them…I’ll be using these knives for cutting paper, plastic, ropes, etc…nothing really abusive…

I think that pretty much everyone here will agree that the Sanrenmu Land 910 +, 9103 and 9104 are the best budget knives you can buy in this price range,
I personally prefer the 9103 and 9104 as they are slimmer due to being frame locks but the 910+ has G10 handles and will be grippier.
They run on ball bearings and 12C27 steel is much better than the 8CR13MOV found on the 7010.

Gearbest has currently flash sales on those
9103 right now for $15

9104 for $14

910+ in green for $15

910+ in black for $16
https://www.gearbest.com/pocket-knives-and-folding-knives/pp_606097.html

Those knives are a bargain at these prices.

Thanks bdpf79, now I’ll spend few bucks more and buy both 9104 and 910+ :person_facepalming: I’m cutting things quite often due to my job requirements, so more than 1 knife will be good investment

It’s always a pleasure to get other people to spend their money
You won’t regret it, those are great knives worth 3 times their price (I have all 3).
Let us know what you think of them once you get them.

The 910 range are superb value for money. Just really nice production tolerances, finishing (rounded blade spine etc). Whether you prefer framelock or linerlock will come down to personal preference. I prefer the framelock (9103/9104), it’s heavier but thinner and has a very solid feel.

Harnds Talisman is my favourite budget knife right now but it costs a few bucks more. Sometimes it goes under $20

My knife I ordered from gearbest is taking a world tour without me!

Tracking shows it passed Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and now Poland.

Maybe its going by train? :stuck_out_tongue:
Which shipping method did you choose?

I dont know what I had chosen but it now says: “Shipping method: Sweden surface mail”. That explains it… :person_facepalming:
So it might be indeed going by train

Weird but funny  .
