Wrist watches. Post pics, if you EDC one!

Look at post 641. There’s a link under the picture.

Oooh sorry overlooked that! Thanks!

In my experience it really depends on the particular bracelet, not the style, i’ve had milanese and all sorts of metal bracelet and hardly experienced pulled hairs if ever, but i remember a cheap quartz seiko with metal links bracelet that was absolutely horrible, like torture.

steel bracelets do not have to pinch arm hair. but i don’t know how to predict which ones might do it, either.

leather bands get smelly, are slow to put on and remove, and that process eventually wears out the one hole you use all the time.

rubber and synthetics can be sweaty, and also develop rot over time - whether you wear them or not.

my pet peeve is - proprietary designs that lego into the watch body expensively… exact replacements are expensive, and cheap watches just do not have replacement bands available. usually these are molded plastic.

My EDC…

That’s me in the pic mate………

Can I have your autograph?

A new bracelet for my old reliable, cream-colored dial Explorer II. . I was surprised the bracelet costs this much now. ($1100!) The original bracelet so used it was already ‘snaky’ and broke one of its pins.

$1100 for a bracelet?

Yes, and the company takes away my old bracelet too as a matter of policy!

GEEZ! i could NOT do that!

i'd want to put it in a safety deposit box and get a clone ...the bracelet - not to mention the actual watch!...

i'm doomed to cheap watches.

fortunately i enjoy them.

though i do have an eye out for a "ventura loga".

$3500 on ebay.

If you like it, go for it !

Haha - I love the films too. I actually prefer the Alien series (well, most of them) but the Predator is seriously badass and has a better spaceship.

Alien and Aliens are my favorites. The other’s weren’t nearly as good.

I have the DVD box set of the first 4

My trusty vintage 1980 Sub Mdl. 1680 … in the rotation.

tell the truth,

do you REALLY let that thing get wet on purpose?

i could NOT do it :) i

don;t even like my $50 watches to get wet

I swim with my 100m water resistant Timex Expedition Crono. Never had a problem with moisture entering the watch. That said, I’d never let my new 50m water resistant Hamilton anywhere near water.

I wear my sub in fresh and salt water all the time. I keep it serviced and wear it without worry. I have been collecting watches for some 30 plus years and know how to care for them. I’ve been wearing this beater on a regular basis since I bought it new in 1980. Great watch.

Ditto……

As it happens, a scene from Alien 3 was filmed about three miles north of me.

I received my Casio G-Shock GW-M5610-1BJF today.

My first negative display g-shock, it’s even worse than what i though regarding readability, it’s terrible.

I bought it with the intent to mod it to positive display because the equivalent positive display model (GW-M5610 wich i had a few monthes ago) has a dial surrounding the display a tad too colorful for my tastes.

Hopefully i don’t mess up.
