The lens and reflector from TR-801 fits almost perfect

well, something wrong with pictures, so here is the direct link

To link the picture in, use the 18th icon from the left - the green one immediately to the right of the anchor icon in the edit toolbar.

But for some reason it isn't wanting to work with host-photo.com - it does work with imageshack and photobucket.

From host-photo's FAQ,

"Does HOST-PHOTO.com allow direct photo linking?

Yes, but only using the provided hotlink code.

After reading host-photo's FAQ it seems that the hotlink code is not the same as the URL for the picture.

But enough of that...

What size of reflector and where did you get it from?

Do you prefer the beam with the reflector instead of the plastic optic?

thanks Don, next time I'll try mageshack or photobucket

the beam isnt perfect (there are some rings) but I prefer this one, its not so concentrated but still throws well

the reflector is from Trustfire TR-801 and it fits quite well

the plastic one I put in TR-801 and now it throws better but the beam is ugly

Thanks - since I have both, I'll give that a try myself.

I am leaving my BLF untouched but i just did this swap to my J4 and the tr-801. wow can the tr-801 throw now! and it could throw well as it was originally. Kind of a fun little swap.

My only problem is the optic from the J4 is a bit too tall so i cannot seal the head onto the tr-801 all of the way. there is a bit of o-ring exposed still. did you have similar problems?

Hey Krikstas could you make some measurements of the TR-801 reflector or even better if someone could recommend a nice OP reflector ( actually anything that would make it more floody that the standard TIR optics ) that would fit nicely in the BFL MR.Lite??

Thanks.

The TR-801 reflector could be made OP with hairspray...

Cheap and reversible.

I didnt know that, thanks Don ( for the advice and the welcome).

This one fits perfectly, and I like the beam more than the original TIR.

Do you have access to a lightmeter? I've very curious about the difference in throw between the two types of optics.

Once I get home I'll give it a try - hopefully I'll get home today.

Pics please Tongue out

Can't do that for now. I don't have the body of the flashlight :)
