Sofirn C8F host. 21700 C8F Available

Thank you Dale. I am following in your footsteps with a UV light build in this nice host. Will post details if I can get the thing working right. I wanted to start slow with a cruddy battery since I am not quite sure how the emitters will handle full power.

UV emitters are typically much lower voltage/current, like 700mW or 1000mW, so if you aren’t taking precaution to keep power level to their requirements you’re gonna blow 3 UV emitters in a big hurry.

While we’re on the subject, what current do you think the Sofirn driver puts out with an average battery for the C8F, no DB Custom FET mods?

I reviewed one of these and I am in contact with Dale comparing notes a lot of times also.
with everything as the light comes out of the box , I would say 8.5 to 9.5 amps would be a good average to expect from the included cell or a quality high drain cell.

Thanks Robo. I am assuming that is on Turbo.

Yes on Turbo and at the tailend.

Stupid question, but does the host come with the side clicky e switch included?

Yes it’s already installed with wire leads

If I read correctly… it does.

Did a quick search but didn’t find anything.

Did anyone mod this light with 3x sst-40 using a fet driver or other high performance driver?
If so, how much lumens did you got?

C8F has arrived! Here is my build. It is nice that it came without any engraving.

Yeah received yesterday unbranded host, quite heavy for a C8
I am not sure if I like the smooth host, a bit knurling would have been nice

I wish there would be a transparent switch cover included for lighted switch board, but I will look into it later if I can find a solution

Yeah, their hosts are unbranded. I love that they did that. My regular Sofirn C8 is the same way. Kinda wish Convoy did that.

Hello friend! Began to collect a flashlight sent from Sofirn and found that the electronic button does not have a free wheeling and is not pressed. That is, it stands in one, jammed position. What to do ? Where to buy a similar button? Maybe she understands? I wrote to the seller, I’ll see what answers.

That is some fine machining johnkey! Those switches can be found easily, I’m on my phone now but I will get you a link later.
Why did you choose for a TIR optic?

Experiments. Boredom. :innocent:

 That is sound flashaholic reasoning.
Nice line-up!

Wrote about the problem in the shop Sofirn on Ali.
Already sent and given a track number.
Simply good fellows!

Still found ….

I don’t understand:
Why would anyone want to replace the Sofirn triple LED PCB with a Noctigon?
Both are copper DTP.

I can understand going to the Noctigon for it’s 3 oz copper traces, have no idea why the awesome reflector was cut into a spacer in favor of the boring CUTE-3 optics though. The triple reflector is what makes the Sofirn a game changer. Much tighter beam from the reflector. But then, I’ve built so many dozens of CUTE-3 optic triples…

Just goes to show, different strokes for different folks!
