Need 15mm driver

You are the best

I would be very interested for my Tool AA as well !
Do you have another one available ?

I think i have two boards left , but i have to look again .

Because it has 7135 chips on the back side , it requires a small spring or a brass button . Does Tool AA have enough space ?

I used one of these boards to make a 15mm fet driver too (single sided) , like djozz did with the 17mm version : comfychair-inspired quick+cheap+lazy single-sided 17DD FET-driver (poor man's nanjg92)

The Tool AA will benefit from a single sided driver, no springs, maybe just a button, if that doesn’t hinder the tube to touch the pill.
I ordered a 15mm MTN driver with Crescendo with bypassed spring for the Tool AA.
I had to take the spring out and had to add solder in the middle back of the driver (to connect the positive wire).

If you are going to use these double sided drivers in the Tool AA, be aware that the non-anodized part of the tube must touch the pill

If the driver is too thick, I’ll swap the optic for a TIR (shorter) and call it a day. …
I prefer to keep some sort of regulation with the 7135 instead of a FET

If you find your light is having flickering issues just bang it against your upper thigh ... oldschoolflashlightwisdom

Ok , let me make sure i have another pcb and i’ll let you know :+1:

Thanks !

I’m using mine with a pebbled TIR (9.2mm height / 15mm diameter) + stock AR coated lens. The reflector is 9.7mm tall / 15.9mm diameter. Unless there are shorter but larger lens that would reduce the height and increase the space for the driver, this is probably the size that can be used in this flashlight.
I struggled a bit and made a “mess” on the driver, adding solder to the edges and the pill so that the tube made contact!
There is few room for major changes on the Tool AA. Well, at lease with my knowledge and tools
You guys can make incredible things

I would remove the glass lens if I use a TIR

@XXX-Man does it have enough space for a small spring on the driver (~6mm) ?

@X3 I have a second board , i can make another one for you .
I don’t know if i have any small brass button for the driver , but i will think of something .

I just hope i had some 7135 380mAh for these little drivers , but unforunately i don’t

Yes, small spring has enough place.
I will use unprotected flat top batteries so that should leave enough room for spring.

Soldering spring or replacing is no problem for me if space becomes problem
I can do soldering on bigger parts, smd is a big problem for me

SO cool of you giorgoskok !
No need to worry about the brass button, I’ll make a solder blob instead. About 7135, 350mA ones will suffice, no problem !
Thank you again

Hi ,
sorry to revive this old thread.
Can anyone point me toward a 15mm driver to mod my small lights?
Thank you!

Thank you Lightbringer.

I was hoping for something more sophisticate, though. At least 2 modes :innocent:

Lexel is not active anymore, I guess?

Lexel hasn't logged in for almost 9 months.

I'm not sure what he's up to.

See MTN Electronics

Uh-oh. He dead.

Mtn electronics sells fet+1 drivers with nice UIs. However they are nearly perpetually out of stock.
