They build to other people’s specs. So they can build it good like Olight and Acebeam or cheap like many no name brands. Whatever the customer wants.
The MF01 and MF02 seem to have good to middle of the road build quality, but the drivers did not seem to be fully tested.
Astrolux is Banggoods house brand so I don’t know if they commissioned Mateminco to build a light to their specs or what exactly.
As a general rule, I don’t like to buy any light that I cannot replace the driver in should it fail later. So far Lexel is making a nice FET driver for the MF 01 and a nice buck driver for the MF 02 both using NarsilM. So I have no fear of buying either one of those lights, but I feel the need to wait a little while until after the MF 03 comes out to decide whether or not I would buy it. I’m a little cautious when it comes to group buys or buying prototype lights that are not fully tested. That’s just me, though.
Any news on this? I’ve noticed there’s lots of interest in the MF-04 & MF-05, but the two MF-03 threads have become rather quiet. Is #05 going to replace this one after they teased us with pictures of a cooling fan, or are both still separate projects?
This light looks amazing but the stock driver on the MF01 was pretty poor. I’ll buy it and ship it to Lexel to replace the driver. So the threads on this better not be glued.
All those announced MF-xx Astrolux lights are confusing… 01, 02, 03… up to 05… Where is 04?
Can someone put up a short list of specs and release date for each in a table or something easy to read?
Which ones are available apart from 01?
Will this come with NW or WW option? The only thing keeping me buying the Acebeam X80 and Imalent DX80 is that they only come in 6500k CW. I wish this will have the beautiful XHP70.2 4000k 80+ CRI WW option like the Haikelite MT09R group buy. The tint is nearly identical to the legendary Nichia NVSL219BT 4000k emitter. I would love to have that perfect tint with HI CRI in a DX80 caliber light.
