The Miller has been absent since about Nov 20th. He is the only one who can change post one. At some point in the future we can have the moderator (forum owner SB) reassign post one to Team Fritz or whatever. Then it can be updated. We just haven’t got to that point, yet.
Tk I think that would save a ton of time and confusion and work on a lot of people. If anyone can figure out a way to overcome all the issues left to work it is you. Thanks for your efforts.
Hum, I guess it would be a nice idea. Maybe the only problem is the different ways people say they want to be interest list:
- I’m in for N / I’m in
- I want N
- Please put me in the list / Please add me to the list /
- Sign me up for N
- Put me down for N
- I’d be interested in N / I am interested in N
- Count me in for N
1 please / N please
….
These are only some ways people say they want the FW3A. Also, despite the “bot”, wouldn’t it be necessary to re-check everything again to fill the gaps?
It is a brilliant idea, though
I think it would be reasonable for the project team to say that requests to be added to the list have to be in a certain format, and to only intervene if the bot doesn’t function properly.
If anyone has trouble with the bot commands I’m sure other members will help them out.
I see the BLF A6 is being sold off really cheap now, under $18. When compared to the quoted original price it seems like its being dumped. As a marketing ploy it works. Every time the price goes down I order yet another one. I am wondering if this will be the ultimate fate for the FW3A, can it be bought cheaper when it nears the end of it`s run.
I don’t expect the FW3A to go for the same price as the BLF-A6 because it’s more expensive to produce. It has more components and requires higher precision in its parts. It could potentially hit prices below the original group buy price at some point, but I wouldn’t expect that any time soon.
That’s a normal price curve thing though, especially for group buy-type stuff. It starts low and ends low, with a higher price for most of its life in-between.
I’ve been meaning to do that, actually. A thread for discussion, a thread for announcements, and some sort of automated way to sign up. Perhaps also something for FAQs and support. The idea is to take it a bit farther though, adding features which aren’t available on BLF, augmented by another site. Hopefully it can use OpenID or similar, to auth users directly from BLF.
For now, I’ll stick to only the easiest bits and the most pressing needs… like not having people burn out on interest-tracking duty. And, if it’s relevant, I could add more later.
That is, assuming I have time. Not sure that’ll be the case.
